They have a vacancy for a farm manager to start ASAP.

• Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Agriculture or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in agricultural operations, including supervisory experience.
• Experience with growing green peppers/chillie's/baby marrow/ginger/turmeric or sweetcorn would be advantageous
• Valid drivers license essential.
• Knowledge of fertilizer and chemical application.
• Expertise in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) techniques.
• Ability to maintain accurate records of field activities and employee documentation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage a diverse team.
• Conversational proficiency in both English and Afrikaans.

• Farm Operations Management:
  • Oversee and coordinate year-round field operations, including land preparation, fumigation, planting, cultivation, irrigation, pest scouting, pesticide applications, fertilization, weed control, and more.

• Crop Management:
  • Provide input on land analysis, crop rotation, crop yields, and spray programs.
  • Monitor and manage crop growth and address weed and disease control to ensure optimal yield.

• Staff Supervision:
  • Lead and manage field crews during all phases of farm operationpre-harvest, harvest, and post-harvest.
  • Train and oversee general laborers, ensuring they adhere to safety standards and farm procedures.

• Budgeting & Reporting:
  • Assist in the preparation of farm budgets and monitor field operations within budget constraints.
  • Maintain detailed computerized records of field activities, timesheets, and maintenance logs.

• Minimum of a National Diploma in Agriculture with focus on Horticulture, Pomology, or Crop Production
• Preferred qualification: BSc Agriculture or BTech Agriculture with specialisation in fruit production, irrigation management, or plant protection
• Additional short courses in farm business management, financial management, labour relations, or health and safety will be advantageous
• Proven experience in fruit farming with specific exposure to apples and pears (pome fruit)
• In-depth knowledge of modern orchard practices including irrigation, crop protection and pruning systems
• Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and control costs
• Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to supervise, motivate and develop teams
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in Afrikaans and English
• Self-driven and able to work independently while taking initiative
• Resilience and adaptability in a dynamic agricultural environment
• Computer literacy in farm management systems and MS Office
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to reside on the farm
• Commitment to the long-term success and sustainable growth of the farming operation

• Agricultural Degree / Diploma advantageous

• Manage all administrative & practical areas of a Sheep farm inc but not limited to
• To set up all structures, facilities & resources required for the effecting running of a flock of 1000 Dorper Sheep
• Asist in procurement of sheep, manage budgets & labour. All practically & administratively
• Reporting including budgets & expenditure on weekly & monthly basis

• Managing daily farming operations, including planting, irrigation, fertilisation, and harvesting
• Implementing and overseeing crop production plans to meet FMCG supply needs
• Monitoring soil health, crop performance, and implementing sustainable practices
• Managing farm budgets, resources, and procurement of equipment and supplies
• Leading and motivating farm workers, supervisors, and contractors
• Ensuring compliance with agricultural, environmental, and food safety regulations
• Maintaining accurate records and reporting on yields, costs, and productivity

• Degree/Diploma in Agriculture, Agronomy, or related field
• Minimum 5 years farm management experience (FMCG/agri-processing environment preferred)
• Strong leadership and operational management skills
• Knowledge of modern farming techniques, irrigation systems, and crop protection
• Budget management and strong organisational ability
• Willingness to work extended hours during peak seasons
