The server & network infrastructure team is seeking a strong Linux & Systems Administration Specialist to join its team. You will require a proven track record with at least 5+ years’ experience in a similar role having supported Linux Systems in an enterprise environment. You will also preferably be certified on CentOS, RedHat or Oracle Linux. Network and Firewall related knowledge and skill is an advantage.
In this position you will be required to:
- Install, configure, support and maintain Linux servers in development, test and production environments.
- Investigate and troubleshoot performance and other issues.
- Maintain design and support documentation.
- Possess strong general knowledge of Infrastructure services relevant to Linux like DNS, NTP, network, security hardening and other common Linux services.
- Administer Enterprise storage systems like NetApp, EMC, etc.
- Create and maintain Bash scripts for automation and other tasks.
- Install, configure and maintain a wide variety of open source and enterprise applications on Linux.
- Ensure systems are backed up and can be restored in the event of a disaster.
- Maintain a disaster recovery site.
- Ability to learn quickly.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Linux System Administration:
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux servers (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu) to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Perform regular system updates, patch management, and security hardening.
- Monitor system resource utilization and optimize configurations for efficiency.
Virtualization and Cloud Management:
- Manage and maintain virtualization platforms, including KVM and OpenNebula.
- Provision and manage virtual machines (VMs) and containers as needed.
- Implement high-availability and disaster recovery solutions for virtualized environments.
Scripting and Automation:
- Develop and maintain scripts in Bash and Python to automate routine tasks and streamline system management.
- Create and manage Ansible playbooks for configuration management and deployment.
• Security and Compliance:
- Implement security best practices and monitor system vulnerabilities.
- Perform security audits and apply patches and updates as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Infrastructure Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
- Set up monitoring tools to proactively identify and address system issues.
- Investigate and resolve complex technical problems in a timely manner.
• Collaboration and Documentation:
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support project requirements.
- Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Capacity Planning and Scaling:
- Assess system performance and capacity requirements, making recommendations for upgrades and scaling as needed.
- Participate in planning and executing infrastructure expansion projects.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Hardware/Networking fundamentals preferably in a datacentre environment (A+/ N+) or similar diploma
- Knowledge of virtualization (Hyper-V/KVM) environments
- Customer support experience
- Basic scripting (Bash, Python) and experience working on the command line
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle

This role is critical to ensuring secure, scalable, and efficient cloud and on-premises operations. The ideal candidate will bring Azure and / or Amazon Web Services ("AWS") expertise, a background in Linux server administration, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
What You Can Offer Us- Manage and maintain Linux-based systems in Oracle Linux in on-premises, Azure, and AWS environments.
- Perform system updates, patching, and configuration management using tools such as Ansible or shell scripting.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability of Linux services.
- Configure and manage services such as Secure Shell, NGINX / Apache, cron jobs, and system logging.
- Support the integration of Linux systems with Active Directory- and Azure-based identity services.
