The Legal Secretary will provide high-level administrative and litigation support to attorneys, ensuring the efficient handling of civil, commercial, family, and criminal law matters.
The role requires strong experience in litigation processes within both the Magistrate and High Court, with advanced knowledge of CaseLines and CourtOnline systems.
Salary: R15 000 – R18 000 per month.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare court statements, forms, pleadings, and discovery binders.
- Dictate and transcribe audio files and written notes from attorneys.
- Proofread, format, and finalise legal documents with accuracy.
- Manage case files, records, projects, and calendars to ensure seamless workflow.
- Maintain and update indexes, pleadings, and discovery records.
- Coordinate the collection, filing, and delivery of documents to courts and clients.
- Manage attorney diaries and schedule litigation-related deadlines.
- Arrange travel and meetings for attorneys as required.
- Support legal research and liaise with vendors, experts, opposing counsel, and internal teams.
- Monitor and manage litigation timelines, filings, and court procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 5 years’ experience as a Legal Secretary, with strong exposure to civil, commercial, family, and criminal law.
- Proven experience in Magistrate and High Court Litigation as well as debt collections.
- Strong working knowledge of CaseLines and CourtOnline (non-negotiable).
- Experience with litigation diary management.
- Excellent organisational, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in drafting and reviewing documents.
- Solid understanding of court processes and filing requirements.

Have you formed part of a Legal Team assisting in areas of Project Finance or Banking & Finance?
Renewable energy or Construction experience, dispute management and litigation experience will be highly advantageous! Bachelors Law degree essential.
In this role you will be assisting the Asset Management Team with the portfolio of projects from financial close through to construction and operation phases.
REQUIREMENTS
- Matric, bachelor’s degree in law
- Three to four years’ PQE in a similar role in project finance or banking and finance

DUTIES
- Advising on and implementing various Project and Finance contracts (such as CTAs, PPAs, IAs, SHAs and MSAs).
- In conjunction with the Project Financial Controllers, management of Financing and Project contracts and overseeing achievement of contractual deliverables.
- Drafting and advising on formal notices and legal correspondence.
- Coordination of legal processes within Projects, as may be required.
- In case of claims, supporting the investigation of claims and the collection of evidence permissible under Project and Finance agreements.
- Managing litigation and arbitration proceedings related to the Project and Finance contracts.
