Advises on critical contractual commitments including projects under design or development, property management, IT software, intellectual property, 3rd Party Off-takers terms and conditions and policies. Regulatory Compliance Monitor, interpret, and advise on industry-relevant laws and regulations.Design and implement systems to ensure ongoing legal compliance from a governance perspective such as anti-bribery and corruption and POPIA.Manage relationships with regulators and represent the company in official engagements if required. Litigation and Dispute Resolution Manage litigation processes and external counsel relationships. Leads litigation settlements with companies under litigation or business rescue in line with the mandate granted. Strategise dispute resolution through negotiation, arbitration, or mediation. Maintain accurate legal case records and reports. Legal Risk Management Identify potential legal risks and develop mitigation strategies to protect the company's interests. Conduct legal risk assessments and provide guidance on risk management practices. Integrate legal risk considerations into all business processes through collaborating. Lead legal input in enterprise risk assessments. Manage crises such as safety, process regulatory notices and engage national departments, clients, contractors and employees. Team Leadership and Development Lead and manage the legal department, including talent sourcing, on-boarding, coaching, and performance management of Staff. Foster a culture of legal compliance and ethical behaviour throughout the organisation. Enhance legal awareness and understanding by providing the necessary training. Build legal literacy across the organisation. Schedule:
Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM PST (USA)
Your Responsibilities Will Include but Are Not Limited To:
- Answering phones and building relationships with prospective clients
- Handling intake processes, including receiving introductions and following up
- Scheduling consultations and tracking case data
- Assisting with relationship management and data entry projects
- Supporting administrative tasks and developing client relationship systems
- Conducting initial screenings and gathering essential case information
- Inputting client details accurately into case management systems and preparing intake summaries for attorneys
- Coordinating consultations and follow-ups with legal staff
- Providing clear, compassionate guidance to prospective clients
- Ensuring all intake procedures align with confidentiality and legal standards
What We're Looking For:
- At least one to two years of experience supporting legal, medical, or customer service intake roles
- High school diploma required
- Familiarity with US legal billing practices is a plus
- Strong written and spoken English skills, with excellent grammar and punctuation
- Experience with e-filing court documents (preferred)
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to work in a distraction-free environment, fully focused on tasks
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to address sensitive topics empathetically
- Excellent organization and time management
- Familiarity with CRM or legal case management software
- Basic understanding of employment law and litigation processes (preferred)
- Professional demeanor and dedication to client care
- Reliable computer setup (laptop/PC, headset, stable internet min. 10 Mbps download / 5 Mbps upload)
