Applications for the post of Administrative Officer:Student Leadership Support (Res Life) , are invited from dynamic and vibrant individuals with demonstrated student housing experience within a tertiary institution, who have a quest for constant self-improvement and development and the growth and development of others. The Successful Candidate will be Responsible for:

  • General Administrative Support (includes Database Capturing and Reconciling for Reporting Purposes) to the ResLife Student Leadership Support Coordinator
  • General House Committee and Central House Committee Procurement Support to the ResLife Student Leadership Support Coordinator
  • General Eventing, Marketing Support and Social Media Monitoring to and on behalf of the ResLife Student Leadership Support Coordinator (includes after hours, on-site support)
  • Driving, Supporting and Administration of the all RS Student Leadership Elections Processes
  • Administrative and Implementation Support of Elections schedules for House Committees and the Central House Committee
  • Attendance of all elections-related meetings and minute-taking
  • Support with the Inauguration, Induction, and Orientation of elected House Committees and the Central House Committee
  • Collation of training materials including manuals, resources, hand-outs etc
  • Receiving and screening of Event requisitions and attached budgets for final sign off from the Coordinator and ResLife Manager
  • Setting up, maintaining, monitoring, responding to, and updating social networking sites and programme marketing strategies on behalf of Student Leadership Support
  • Managing diary appointments and scheduling student engagement activities for the Student Leadership Coordinator and broader RS Management
  • Ensuring budget allocations across student leadership structures are captured accurately and tracked as programme implementation occurs (must adhere to Procurement Policy and parameters set for student leaders’ access to funding for programming)

Minimum Requirements

  • A National Diploma or Advanced Certificate(NQF 6)in Project and/or Office Management or related
  • 2 to 5 years demonstrated experience in a projectadministrative and implementation capacity
  • A valid SA driver’s license for a minimum of 2 years

Core Experience

  • Excellent skills in terms of office and project administration
  • Have a demonstrated understanding of procurement activities and processes in previous work experience
  • Prior experience must demonstrate experience in working with young people in a higher educational setting
  • The applicant must be prepared to work after hours to accommodate availability of students for programming
  • Evidence of participation in training and related activities

    KPA 4) People Management

    • Managing performance which includes conducting annual performance reviews of staff in accordance with the performance management process, and monitor overall performance of the Institutional Advancement function on an ongoing basis.
    • Coaching and mentoring staff as appropriate to improve performance.
    • Directing implementation of training and development programmes for staff, including personal development plans (PDPs).
    • Establishing a positive, healthy and safe work environment and culture ln accordance with the Transformation Charter and ODeL 2016-2030 strategy.
    • Directing implementation of the human resources policies, procedures and practices.
    • Determining staff requirements for the department which includes resourcing of programmes and initiatives.

    KPA 5) Governance and Reporting

    • Monitoring and report on progress against functional strategic initiatives.

    Inherent Criteria
    • Your doctoral degree in Social Sciences and Humanities or cognate disciplines is complemented by a minimum of 10years experience in the area of leadership and transformation, of which at least 5 years has been in a senior management role.
    • A minimum of 10 years’ experience with at least 5 years in a senior management role.

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    The Manager: Leadership Development and Consultancy at Christian Education National (CEN) is responsible for driving the organisation’s leadership development strategy and enhancing its consultancy services. This role aims to equip and empower leaders at all levels across CEN member schools, build a sustainable pipeline of emerging leaders, and strengthen CEN’s consultancy offerings. The Manager will work closely with State Executive Officers, senior school leaders, and a network of consultants to implement effective leadership programs and develop CEN’s consultancy structure into a profitable, value-driven service for member schools.

    SELECTION CRITERIA
    • Demonstrated experience in leadership development, training, or coaching, preferably within an educational or Christian organisation.
    • Proven ability to design and deliver leadership programs that address varied levels of leadership within schools (or similar organisations).
    • Understanding of the unique needs and regulatory landscape of Christian education in Australia.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience in building and maintaining client relationships.
    • Proven capability in data-driven program evaluation, performance measurement, and continuous improvement.
    • Experience in recruiting and managing a network of skilled professionals and consultants.
    • Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise, and well-structured reports for various audiences, including senior leaders and stakeholders.
    • Formal qualifications in education, organisational leadership, business administration or similar.

    1. Program Rollout and Collaboration · Collaborate with State Executive Officers to implement leadership development programs targeting junior, middle, and senior management levels within CEN schools.

    · Provide guidance and support to ensure leadership programs meet the specific needs of schools across various states and adapt to each state’s context.

    2. Coram Deo Leadership Program · Lead the ongoing development of the Coram Deo Leadership program, focused on senior executive leaders, aligning the program’s content and structure with CEN’s core values and leadership vision.

    · Ensure that the Coram Deo program nurtures a Christ-centred approach to leadership, promoting faithful effective strategic leadership within Christian education.

    3. Monitoring and Feedback Mechanisms · Develop and implement robust monitoring and feedback systems to assess the effectiveness of leadership programs at all levels.

    · Use data and insights from these mechanisms to refine program content, address emerging needs, and report on outcomes to stakeholders.

    4. Leadership Pipeline Development · Actively monitor and identify emerging leaders within CEN schools, evaluating their potential and readiness for future leadership roles.

    5. Mentoring and Coaching Support · Establish mentoring and coaching structures to support leaders across the CEN network.

    Consultancy Services

    1. Consultancy Structure Development · Build on and enhance the current consultancy framework at CEN, streamlining processes and improving operational efficiency.

    2. Strategic Marketing and Communications · Develop information and marketing materials to promote consultancy services to CEN member schools and other Christian schools outside the network.
