Customer support & training:

Product feedback & improvement:

• Gather feedback from healthcare providers regarding the performance of equipment, any challenges faced, and any improvements needed.
• Relay this feedback to management to help improve the products and address any issues or limitations.

Regulatory compliance:

• Ensure that products comply with relevant healthcare regulations and standards.
• Assist customers in navigating regulatory requirements when using medical equipment.
• Market intelligence:
• Monitor trends in the healthcare and medical device industry to provide insights into customer needs, emerging technologies, and competitive products.
• Participate in industry events and conferences to stay informed and network with key stakeholders.

Administration & reporting:

• Complete & keep detailed records of all work done and prepare weekly work reports.
• Prepare product reports by collecting, analysing and summarizing information & trends.
• Update & maintain product database on on-going basis.

Support sales & business development:

• Drive sales by identifying potential customers and passing on the lead to the sale team.
• Support strategies for promoting the products and expanding the customer base.
• Build & maintain strong relationships with customers.
• Support achievement of sales quotas and targets.

Requirements

Qualifications

• A Grade 12 certificate as a minimum requirement.
• Tertiary qualification in related field advantageous.

Experience required

• Fluent in English, verbal and written;
• 3-5 years experience in the medical field;
• 3-5 years experience in a clinical laboratory environment preferred;
• Academic research experience advantageous;
• Strong IT knowledge and experience advantageous;
• Experience with troubleshooting beneficial.

Background

An implementation study on the dapivirine vaginal ring (DVR) was conducted in South Africa, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Uganda and Eswatini. The study generated quantitative data on uptake, adherence, and user experiences. We are seeking a qualified Biostatistician to support data analysis for an implementation study on the dapivirine vaginal ring, a long-acting biomedical HIV prevention method. The consultant will analyze quantitative data on uptake, adherence, and user experiences, producing report and publication-ready results to inform regulatory, policy and programmatic decisions.

Scope of Work

· Review study protocol, objectives, and datasets.

· Develop and finalize a statistical analysis plan (SAP).

· Clean and merge datasets

· Conduct appropriate statistical analyses, including descriptive, inferential, and multivariable analyses

· Provide guidance on data quality, management, and handling of missing data.

· Generate report and publication-ready tables, figures, and outputs.

· Contribute to interpretation of findings and drafting of results sections for reports and manuscripts.

· Participate in virtual meetings with the study team as needed.

Deliverables

· Finalize statistical analysis plan.

· Clean and merge datasets

· Write reproducible code (Stata/R/SAS preferred) and conduct appropriate statistical analyses.

· Comprehensive results tables and figures (report and publication ready).

· Analytical report summarizing findings.

· Contributions to reports, manuscripts, policy briefs, and presentations as needed.

Qualifications

· Advanced degree (MSc) in Biostatistics, Statistics, or related quantitative field, PhD preferrable.

· Demonstrated experience in analyzing implementation science or public health studies.

· Proficiency in Stata, R, or SAS.

· Strong track record of peer-reviewed publications or reports.

· Familiarity with HIV prevention research and/or women's health interventions desirable.

· Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

Level of Effort & Duration

Estimated 12 days per month (3 days/week) over 12 months (with flexibility based on agreed scope) from 01 November 2025 to 31 October 2026. Remote, with communication primarily via email/virtual meetings.

Role Overview

The Laboratory Technician is primarily responsible for safe handling, testing, analysis of waste samples to ensure they are aligned with the correct waste type specific for Landfill disposal and Effluent Treatment Plant.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sample Receipt

• Receive and log test samples
• Handle and prepare test samples in accordance with documented instructions

Conduct Tests

• Perform analysis according to procedures and test methods in order to produce reliable and precise data to assist with waste classification
• Capture
  analytical results on lims
• Maintaining and operating standard laboratory equipment: gcms; bomb calorimeter; xrf; ph meters; scales; moisture analyser; ec meters
• Perform instrument troubleshooting when required
• Following and ensuring safety procedures and safety procedures and safety checks
• Maintain and calibrate equipment as necessary
• Maintain and manage a clean and well-arranged work environment
• Keeping laboratory supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, verifying receipt
• Record information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books
• Handle analytical reports and queries
• Validate test method as per ISO17025:2017 and TR26 document
• Ensure quality and validity of results as per documented procedures
• Performs document quality check in accordance with company laboratory practice
• Performs file backup to ensure proper storage and archiving of electronic registers

Maintain the Management System

• Comply with documented management system policies and procedures

• Monthly report Product audits, Calibration status, functional testing, weld pen status
• Maintain customer KPI regarding QPR, PPM, SSN, Downtime & Warranty.
• Actively involved in a monthly stock take.
• Metal pressing / Welding /Metal finishing / Coating /Moulding /Trim / Assemblies experience
• Support with Quality training regarding inspection sheets, CF WI and quality alert.
• Issue audit report to the supplier and follow up regarding any open items from the audit.
• Deliver Project Quality documentation as per milestones.
• Actively involved in SPTTs (Supplier Parts Tracking Team).
• Support SQT and external / internal suppliers to ensure product quality is achieved prior to delivery according to APQP / Customer requirements / VDA6.3 / IATF16949
• Support supplier quality issues and ensure the effective implementation of corresponding quality control measures.
• Support internal process & system audit and issue reports.
