About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Mine Operations Manager to oversee and coordinate all security functions on a high-risk mining site. This role is critical in ensuring the safety of people, assets, and operations while maintaining compliance with all legal, regulatory, and mine health & safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and oversee all mine security operations (guarding, tactical, access control, CCTV, drones, and K9 deployments).
- Conduct and implement risk assessments, baseline HIRA, and site-specific method statements in line with Mine Health & Safety Act requirements.
- Manage and supervise site security personnel (Ops Managers, Supervisors, Tactical Teams, Control Room staff).
- Ensure effective incident management, investigations, reporting and SAPS liaison.
- Drive compliance with PSIRA, Mine Health & Safety Act, and client security standards.
- Implement and maintain security technology, including CCTV, remote monitoring, drones, and access control systems.
- Compile and present weekly and monthly reports to mine management and Exco.
- Manage budgets, resources, and overtime control to align with client requirements.
- Promote continuous training, learnerships, and upskilling of security personnel.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with mine management, unions, and community stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) and PSIRA Registration – Grade A (valid).
- Minimum 5–7 years senior security management experience, preferably in mining or high-risk industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of mine security, HIRA, and H&S compliance.
- Proven leadership experience in managing large guarding & tactical teams.
- Knowledge of CCTV, access control, and drone operations.
- Excellent incident management, investigation, and report-writing skills.
- Valid driver's license and own transport.
- Firefighting, First Aid, and OHS training advantageous.

- Participate in options formulation for the Concept and Pre-Feasibility studies;
- Work closely with the Metallurgy department to refine the Concept and PF level options;

- Use the latest MineMax/OPMS (Mine Planner) LoM/LoAP/RDP mining model to the required level of detail as prescribed in the methodology (Project Management Framework), ensuring the latest Geological Mod Factors and Process algorithms are updated and still valid;
- Design and simulate the required HME modelling to ensure optimal TCO for the go-forward; taking into consideration the latest OEEs, replacement norms, condition assessments, et al. The HME models must optimise LoM HME models
- and look at optimal integration between the two mines and future endowments.
- Obtain buy-in and sign off from the Head of Mining for the selected options (HME and Scenario outcomes);
- Produce regular updates to the Project Manager and also the Head of Mining (rhythms and routines to be setup and well maintained – incl. minutes and action logs);
- Produce the mining study report and also the mining chapters for the overall project study reports;
- The Development of the OPEX and CAPEX model with detailed costing for each scenario as agreed with the Project Manager and Head of Mining;
- The OPEX/CAPEX model to be developed in accordance to the guidelines in the clients (Project Management framework). The Opex information to be provided to the Financial modeler in the required format in order to perform the financial analysis – fully aligned with the latest RDP/LOAP/LOM financial model and Business Finance Model

Principal Engineer – Maintenance and Infrastructure to join our Advisory Division. The role is primarily responsible for providing consulting services to our clients and requires extensive experience in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Projects and Maintenance roles. Irregular domestic and international travel is a requirement of this role.

The role:
The Mining Activity Engineer reports to the Section Manager Planning.
