Job Description :

As Social Governance, Standards & Assurance Advisor you will provide services as required and your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, health, and environmental regulations within social governance practices.
  • Report any unsafe practices or risks associated with social impact initiatives to the direct supervisor or management swiftly.
  • Monitor and maintain effective quality assurance processes tailored to social governance and performance standards.
  • Conduct regular audits of social programs, stakeholder engagement strategies, and community impact assessments to identify areas for enhancement.
  • Evaluate and support team members involved in social performance to ensure adherence to established governance standards and practices.
  • Solicit and analyse feedback from community stakeholders and team members to drive continuous improvement.

  • Lead initiatives directed at addressing identified gaps in compliance and enhancing the overall quality of social programs.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and methodologies in social governance and performance evaluation.
  • Assess the applicability of new tools and technologies, such as data management systems and stakeholder engagement platforms, on social governance practices.
  • Adapt governance and compliance processes to effectively integrate innovative solutions that enhance the impact of social initiatives.

This role is in the Corporate Affairs (COR) at a Band 6 level reporting to the Manager Corporate Affairs.

Qualifications :

  • Grade 12
  • A diploma in social sciences, public policy, governance, law, or a related field (NQF6)
  • B-degree in social sciences, public policy, governance, law, or a related field (NQF7) is preferred
  • Relevant certifications in social performance, governance, compliance, or quality management (e.g., ISO certifications) may be beneficial.
  • SA Drivers Licence Code B

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in social governance, compliance, or related roles, ideally focusing on community engagement and stakeholder management.
  • Understanding local and international regulations related to social governance, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and compliance.
  • Knowledge of methodologies for assessing social impacts of projects, including stakeholder engagement processes.

Job Description :

As Social Performance (SP) Officer to you will provide services as required and your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Support a safe and healthy work environment where workers, external service providers, and contractors can deliver their outputs within a controlled risk environment.
  • Collect, collate, and analyse data and records to support Social Performance (SP) reporting.
  • Assist in compiling evidence and documentation for AASW Version 3.0 compliance.
  • Coordinate the Social Performance team to implement community health and safety initiatives aligned with the AASW and Sustainable Mining Plan.
  • Track and report on the implementation of critical controls related to social risks, impacts, and human rights using SHIRA and ORM processes.
  • Monitor consultant performance and ensure payments align with agreed deliverables.
  • Provide administrative support to internal and external SP governance platforms, including the Social Performance Management Committee and Community Engagement Forum.
  • Support the execution of Anglo American Social Way (AASW) Version 3.0 to uphold company values and contribute to a lasting legacy.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to meet AASW compliance targets.
  • Collect and collate documentary evidence for mid-year and year-end AASW assessments.
  • Arrange inductions for socially-material contractors in line with AASW Requirement 4b.
  • Liaise with the Permitting function to monitor social aspects of permitting compliance.
  • Maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to manage social impacts and risks.
  • Support efforts to sustain the site’s social license to operate through effective engagement and compliance.
  • Collaborate with community leaders to address local employment and commercial challenges.
  • Track and update the site commitments register weekly in line with the Standard Operating Procedure (SoP).
  • Monitor implementation of Social Management Plans for site, projects, and contractors.
  • Collect, collate, and centrally store documentary evidence for audits and performance assessments
  • Liaise with SP team members to monitor progress on AASW implementation.
  • Prepare and submit monthly progress reports and presentations to the SP Specialist.
  • Draft meeting minutes and prepare agendas for site-level SP governance meetings.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for SP-related engagements and reporting.

This role is in the Corporate Affairs (COR) at a Band 7 level reporting to the Specialist Social Performance.

Qualifications :

Experience

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a social performance environment, preferably I the mining industry.
  • Understand social structures, norms, and community expectations to engage respectfully.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of AASW Version 3.0, including principles, governance, and implementation.
  • Know methodologies for identifying and mitigating social risks and human rights issues in mining.
  • Familiar with relevant laws like MHSA and permitting, and their relation to social performance.
  • Understand project management principles such as planning, budgeting, and tracking. Know stakeholder mapping, engagement, and communication strategies to maintain social license.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of contract management with service providers supporting social projects.

  • Support strategic, business-critical projects in surrounding social areas.

Job Description :

As Corporate Affairs Officer you will provide services as required and your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Apply fundamental safety principles daily, actively identifying and reporting unsafe conditions or behaviours.
  • Participate in safety initiatives such as Visible Felt Leadership programs, completing all required safety interventions and coaching.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating internal reporting systems to ensure timely, accurate, and comprehensive communication of corporate information.
  • Prepare reports, summaries, and dashboards that provide management with relevant insights, supporting transparency and informed decision-making.
  • Maintain organised and accessible records of corporate communications, policies, and reports, ensuring consistency and compliance with internal standards.
  • Support the development, review, and distribution of corporate policies, guidelines, and updates to staff and stakeholders to ensure clarity and consistent understanding.

This role is in the Corporate Affairs (CA) at a Band 7 level reporting to the Specialist Corporate Affairs.

Qualifications :

  • Grade 12
  • Diploma: Communications and Public Relations or equivalent on NQF5
  • SA Drivers Licence Code B (Light Vehicle)

Experience

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in the corporate affairs/public relations/stakeholder engagements industry.
  • Understand corporate affairs-related policies, procedures, and governance standards to ensure accurate support and compliance.
  • Familiarity with internal communication channels, tools, and platforms used within the organisation.
  • Knowledge of reporting and record-keeping practices to ensure data accuracy and organisational transparency.
