Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and spiritually grounded Primary School Teacher to join our Christian school that uses the Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) program. The successful candidate will nurture learners' academic, spiritual, and social development while facilitating a self-paced, mastery-based learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate ACE Curriculum: Guide students through PACE workbooks, ensuring they understand and master each concept before progressing.
  • Monitor Learning Centers: Supervise individual student workstations in the Learning Center, maintaining order, discipline, and a focused learning atmosphere.
  • Score and Supervise: Ensure learners follow ACE procedures for scoring, correcting, and goal setting. Oversee academic progress through scoring stations.
  • Academic Support: Provide individual assistance where needed, especially in foundational subjects such as reading, writing, and mathematics.
  • Spiritual Mentorship: Model and teach Biblical values, incorporating daily devotions, scripture memory, and Christian character training.
  • Assessment & Record-Keeping: Track and record student progress using ACE tracking systems (e.g., goal charts, progress reports, Supervisor's Progress Card).
  • Parent Communication: Regularly update parents on academic progress, behavior, and spiritual growth through meetings and written reports.

Qualifications & Skills

  • A relevant teaching qualification (B.Ed. degree).
  • Permanent SACE number.
  • Police clearance .
  • Familiarity with or willingness to train in the ACE system.
  • Strong Christian faith and alignment with the school's statement of faith.
  • Passion for working with children and guiding them in both academics and character.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a self-paced classroom.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

● Plan for and be prepared to deliver lessons in English, Social Science and Personal and Social Well-being to students,

depending on the grade level and timetable.

● Provide instruction in a variety of subjects and reach students with engaging lesson plans and resources.

● Collaborate with grade level and content area partners to develop rigorous, engaging learning experiences and to create

individualised behaviour and learning plans for all students in class face to face and online.

● Lead weekly SEL (Social Emotional Learning) circles and implement SPARK Schools Social Emotional Learning curriculum.

● Use SPARK culture and implement behaviour management strategies.

● Administer and mark weekly and termly formative and summative assessments to track student progress and analyse the

data for student growth.

● SPARK Educators should have a core focus on student achievement and should drive

all scholars to meet the required proficiency ratings.

● Submit student results data when required.

● Attend pre-service professional development before the school year begins and attend

weekly professional development and any other training interventions.

● Communicate professionally and effectively with colleagues, parents and other

stakeholders.

● Conduct self in a professional manner at all SPARK Schools events and to all

stakeholders.

● Nurture a high achieving work environment where all students feel genuinely valued and

● Attend Saturday events and parent community meetings.

Teachers in SPARK Schools drive student achievement by maintaining high expectations for classroom culture, behaviour, and academic growth for all students.

SPARK Schools teachers receive on-going professional development customised for their past experience and individual

needs.

All teachers are integral to the SPARK Schools' "culture" and our commitment to rigorous, engaging learning experiences for our scholars.

Responsibilities:

● Plan for and be prepared to deliver lessons in English, Social Science and Personal and Social Well-being to students,

depending on the grade level and timetable.

● Provide instruction in a variety of subjects and reach students with engaging lesson plans and resources.

● Collaborate with grade level and content area partners to develop rigorous, engaging learning experiences and to create

individualised behaviour and learning plans for all students in class face to face and online.

● Lead weekly SEL (Social Emotional Learning) circles and implement SPARK Schools Social Emotional Learning curriculum.

● Use SPARK culture and implement behaviour management strategies.

● Administer and mark weekly and termly formative and summative assessments to track student progress and analyse the

data for student growth.

● SPARK Educators should have a core focus on student achievement and should drive

all scholars to meet the required proficiency ratings.

● Submit student results data when required.

● Attend pre-service professional development before the school year begins and attend

weekly professional development and any other training interventions.

● Communicate professionally and effectively with colleagues, parents and other

stakeholders.

● Conduct self in a professional manner at all SPARK Schools events and to all

stakeholders.

● Nurture a high achieving work environment where all students feel genuinely valued and

supported.

● Attend Saturday events and parent community meetings.

● Implement strategies implemented by the Crisis Management team.

● Adhere to the child protection, anti-bullying and health and safety policy.

● B.Ed. degree or PGCE. Intermediate/Senior Phase. Recently qualified teachers
