Job Purpose

To drive business growth by managing strategic customer relationships while building and strengthening the company's brand presence in the market. The role combines account management and brand strategy to ensure client satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term brand equity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  12. Monitor account performance, track sales targets, and report on progress to management.

  13. Strategic & Operational Support

  14. Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts and potential partnerships.

  15. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management on brand and account performance.
  16. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver on client requirements and brand initiatives.
  17. Prepare regular reports on brand health, sales growth, and client engagement.
  18. Represent the brand at industry events, trade shows and client meetings

Qualification & Experience

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Brand Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Postgraduate qualification advantageous).
  • Professional certifications in brand management, sales, or key account management would be an added advantage.

Experience:

  • 3–5 years' experience in brand management, key account management, or a similar role within FMCG, retail, or related industries.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing brand strategies that drive growth.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing key client accounts and achieving sales/revenue targets.
  • Experience in coordinating cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong exposure to market research, consumer insights, and competitor analysis.

Requirements And Skills

  • Senior level – Minimum 5 years' Experience as KAM at an Inbound Tour Operator/DMC
  • Quoting & Costings for inbound Groups and Group series from Europe and USA for Southern

Africa (Namibia/Botswana/Zimbabwe/Zambia/Mozambique)

  • Product knowledge essential
  • Negotiating with suppliers & Liaising with long established clients
  • Liaising with the groups consultants who handle the operations and logistics.
  • Experience in providing solutions based on customer needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships with professionals of all organizational levels

  • MS Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) (TOURPLAN, WETU are a PLUS)

  • Expand the relationships with existing customers by continuously proposing solutions that meet their objectives.
  • Ensure the correct products and services are delivered to customers in a timely manner.
  • Quotes, itineraries, reservations
  • Serve as the link of communication between agents and operations.
  • Resolve any issues and problems faced by customers and deal with complaints to maintain trust.
  • Play part in generating new sales (with the marketing / sales team) that will turn into long-lasting relationships.
  • Be able to prepare regular reports of progress and forecasts for the director.

Overall purpose of the job: The main objective of the Key Account Manager is to ensure that the relationship with the client is managed effectively and day-to-day operations run smoothly.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure that client’s needs, and expectations are met by the business.
  • Address all queries as relates to the tracking portal, new fitments, repairs, stolen vehicle recoveries and other relevant issues and support the various teams within the division.
  • Managing any issues that may arise with both internal and external customers.
  • Prepare and present various reports to the customer and assist with internal reporting requirements.
  • Ensure that the client database is managed effectively and regularly checked, reconciled and update so that any anomalies are timeously actioned accordingly.
  • Ensure that all day-to-day operations run effectively- new fitments, repairs, de-installations, and reinstallations.
  • Ensure that all customer branches have the necessary marketing material and training to effectively on-sell the tracking units to end customers and ensure that all operations related to this are managed and documented correctly.
  • Ensure that relevant personnel receive adequate training on the use of the fleet portal, app and any other relevant elements of the product.
  • Regularly run health checks to identify units that may require repair and action accordingly.
  • Ensure that all other FSD staff on the customer’s premises are well-presented, punctual, productive and that their work is of an appropriate standard.
  • Ensure that adequate controls are in place over stock and SIM cards as relates to the account.
  • Ensure that processes are in place for the effective planning of new fitments as well as the timeous updating of information on the systems to ensure that units installed reflect the correct vehicle details.
  • Ensure that processes are in place for removing deinstalled/deactive units from all systems and ensure they have been suspended from billing procedures.
  • Assist with timely collections of outstanding invoices.
  • Ensure that all additional billing requirements as per SLA agreement are processed and invoiced accordingly.
  • Assist with stock forecasting and budgeting.
  • Ensure works are executed as per company policies and procedure.
  • Source and acquire new business in B2B and SME through an ongoing prospecting plan

Minimum Qualifications And Experience

  • Work experience in a similar role preferred
  • Very strong computer skills- specifically excel and data manipulation skills (Pivot tables, Vlookups etc)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Great Interpersonal Skills
  • Prior experience in Telematics advantageous

Requirements For This Role
  • Grade 12
  • a Relevant Tertiary Diploma or Degree will be beneficial.

  • Thorough understanding of the Herotel networks and the challenges and limitations thereof.
  • Good decision making to ensure immediate resolution of arising issues.

The jobholder is responsible for controlling the GT marketing activities of Total in defined sales and achieve optimal sales and sustainable profitability, while adhering to all Total norms and HSEQ standards.

The Key Accounts Specialist is the point of contact for the customer and handles the distribution of the brand/products or set of brands/products within assigned outlets. The sales representative is responsible for building and maintaining strong professional relationships with clients, ensuring visibility, achievement of sales targets and delivery of high-quality customer service to the existing and potential clients. He/she is also responsible for collection of receivables and is the key source of information for movement of goods/brand and as one of the responsibilities is to bring back market feedback. In their endeavor to excellence, the fundamental values all our employees must possess are Commitment, Integrity, Agility, Empathy and Flexibility.

Main Responsibilities

  • To ensure sales budgets are achieved for fuels and lubricants, and give input during budgeting process
  • To nurture, maintain and manage good customer business relationships in the mining channel of trade
  • To effectively manage pricing, rebates and discount levels and ensure all costing associated with customers is accounted for
  • To ensure that under recoveries (e.g. transport, product returns, maintenance costs, etc.) are collected
  • To control the level of gross margin after variable expense (GMVE) per customer
  • To manage customer credit (resolve errors, perform reconciliation), and ensure customer service delivery
  • To conduct variance analysis / business reviews per customer, compare to budget and take corrective action where appropriate
  • To ensure proper stock management and sales forecasting
  • To monitor and control Fuel Management System suppliers and other suppliers to ensure that costs are managed
  • To compile monthly business review and KPI’s, including asset management
  • To effectively control contracts and administration to ensure contractual rights and obligations are honored

Asset & Stock Management

  • Manage the Area’s operating expenditure and working capital through regular budget monitoring to ensure a reduction in costs to improve the profitability of the Company
  • To ensure that all regulatory and TOTAL South Africa requirements in respect of handling, storing, and distributing our products are adhered to strictly and submissions are maintained
  • To identify and collaborate on leads for GT business opportunities with the Regional Sales Manager
  • To implement and execute promotions and marketing strategies / activities as directed to ensure marketing objectives are reached
  • To collect and report market intelligence, competitor activities, pricing strategies etc.
  • To investigate and initiate / propose opportunities for investments in the sales area
  • To assist in controlling capital expenditure, commitments, and liquidations in the sales area
  • Participate in developing sales and marketing strategies
HSEQ
  • Manage the HSEQ and security of the Area to ensure constant adherence and compliance to the Company’s standards, any local by-laws and government legislation. This to minimize all risk pertaining to the company’s assets and stock, be an excellent corporate citizen, remain operational and ensure the safety of all people
  • To effectively manage and minimize HSE risk within area of responsibility by ensuring: Compliance with all HSE Policies, rules, guideline and legal requirements, Promotion of safe working environment and positively contributing to the company HSE KPIs and risk reduction strategies That HSE competency requirements are identified & enforced within area of responsibility
People
  • To assist in developing, coaching and mentoring trainees / new sales staff to promote a positive working environment which will attract and retain skilled staff and increase productivity

Job Purpose

The Key Account Manager will manage the relationship management with key principals to ensure accounts are retained and that day-to-day operational queries are managed effectively. To help grow business in the principal channel through expansion of services to customer base. To maintain profitability of key accounts, and drive supply chain efficiencies to the benefit of both the customer and Vector ensuring the establishment of long terms strategic partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

Set customer strategy

  • Set strategy for individual customers based on group and customer objectives.
  • Obtain sign off across the business on customer strategy.
  • Implement key KPI’s in line with strategy.

Relationship Management

  • Set key KPIs for customers inline with business strategy.
  • Review customer KPIs monthly ensuring customer and Vector compliance to key KPIs.
  • Drive opportunities to build strategic partnerships through the identification of opportunities for collaboration.
  • Manage internal businessfunctions against agreed KPI’s.
  • Manage customer queries and concerns as and when they occur.

Business Development

  • Identify opportunities for expansion within existing principals.
  • Match Vector business capabilities to principals’ needs through identifying service solutions.
  • Guide commercial discussions with team and negotiate commercial agreements.
  • Implement rate reviews and increases as and when needed to ensure management of principal profitability.

Drive Supply Chain Efficiencies

  • Work cross functionally with supply chain to deliver efficiencies through negotiation with customers on agreed efficiencies.
  • Build relationships between Supply Chain and the customer to ensure that the customers Supply Chain is optimised.
  • Actively drive the S&OP process with the principal to manage key cost drivers such as stock cover, SKU cover etc.

Self-Management

  • Take ownership and accountability for tasks and activities and demonstrate effective self-management in terms of planning, prioritising, and self-development.
  • Follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of work are consistently and accurately maintained.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required for the Job

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or similar.
  • 3 years account or general administration experience preferably in a FMCG environment.
  • 5+ years supply chain experience.
