Support to strategic sourcing initiatives to deliver long term programs for material, equipment and services categories which support the business requirements in South Africa
Responsible for leveraging negotiation skills to secure beneficial terms, employing data analytics for strategic decision-making, and ensuring the alignment of procurement activities with our company’s operation and financial objectives.
KEY OUTPUTS OF POSITION
- Support of CIL global procurement policy adherence in the Country.
- Implementation of procurement strategies, road maps and globalization initiatives for the regions, in relation to Global Procurement.
- Develop and execute local procurement strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives, as well with the Global Procurement Strategy.
- Identify, evaluate and select suppliers and vendors that meet the company’s quality, cost and delivery standards.
- Lead complex negotiations with vendors, focusing on total cost of ownership (TCO), innovation, and flexibility to adapt.
- Negotiate contracts and prices with suppliers and vendors to achieve optimal terms and conditions.
- Monitor and manage supplier performance and compliance and resolve any issues or disputes.
- Ensure adherence to the company’s procurement policies and procedures, as well as local and international laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, Global Procurement Category leaders and stakeholders to understand and support their procurement needs and requirements:
- Analyze and report on regional procurement activities, trends, risks and opportunities, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Manage and mentor a team of procurement promoting cooperation and providing procurement guidance to cross-functional project teams.
- Conduct internal and external benchmarking studies.
- Generate cost reduction initiatives to meet the corporate goals and identify best solutions to provide long-term value to the business.
- Consolidate and analyse global procurement spend data/ KPIs for the preparation of monthly global procurement reporting, using data analytic skills.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Grade 12,
- Bachelor’s degree, postgraduate/ master’s in engineering, business administration or purchasing
- At least 5 years of international procurement experience with demonstrated progress preferably in manufacturing/automotive organizations.
- Experience in strategic procurement and strategy definition.
- Preferably experienced in technical categories
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, coupled with a customer-oriented profile
- Experience in SAP/ERP Procurement solutions (S/4HANA MM, Ariba…);
- Open-minded self-starter with the ability to adapt, improvise and solve problems.
