Job Description
Our mission is to unlock the collaborative power of communities by making Web3 universally easy to use, access, and build on.
Working with Consensys puts you at the forefront of an evolving paradigm , transforming our society for the better. We fundamentally believe blockchain is the next generation of technology that can lay the foundation for a more just and equitable society.
Blockchain tech is just over 10 years old. Ethereum itself is still a toddler and we’re far from reaching our full potential. You’ll get to work on the tools, infrastructure, and apps that scale these platforms to billions of users.
You’ll be constantly exposed to new concepts, ideas, and frameworks from your peers, and as you work on different projects — challenging you to stay at the top of your game . You’ll join a network of entrepreneurs and technologists that reaches the edge of our ecosystem . Consensys alumni have moved on to become tech entrepreneurs, CEOs, and team leads at tech companies.
About MetaMask
We’re building for a future where the internet and world economy empowers people through interactions based on consent, privacy, and free association. Where both communities and individuals flourish. To accomplish that, we’re working hard to make web3 accessible for everyone around the world.
MetaMask is both a crypto wallet and a gateway to the decentralized web. Our tools help people create communities, play video games, access financial services, make payments, invest in assets, protect against economic turmoil, and more. Our browser extension and mobile platforms meet the needs of millions of users and developers across the world.
Originally a humble key manager, today MetaMask serves over 30 million monthly active users as a decentralized application development platform, an aggregator of decentralized cryptocurrency exchanges, and a decentralized identity manager.
The MetaMask Delivery Team
The MetaMask Delivery Team is focused on software delivery for our Extension and Mobile platforms. There are many teams at MetaMask building a range of features – teams for Accounts, Swaps, Confirmations, Snaps, etc – and they all build their code on and release their features through our Extension and Mobile products. Our team is responsible for ensuring these teams are able to consistently and frictionlessly deliver their features through and throughout the software delivery lifecycle, to the users of these products.
To achieve that, we have a primary responsibility of managing and facilitating the Extension and Mobile release processes. A majority of our time is spent on this, and it requires oversight, coordination and hands on action in support of release planning, quality assurance, branch management and store submission.
In addition, we support, advise and unblock teams at earlier stages of the delivery lifecycle (e.g. planning, development, PR review, code merge). We do this by supporting and troubleshooting the use of the tools, processes, development environments and automations that make up our software delivery systems. As such, we need to be responsive day-to-day to any challenges that are slowing down or blocking any team’s ability to move code and features forward.
What you’ll do
We are looking for a Delivery Manager to join our team. The Delivery Manager will be responsible for ensuring that our releases are delivered on-time with quality, and that our software delivery systems support the continuous flow of work through the software lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering high-quality products, experience in project management and delivery, and a strong ability to work with cross-functional teams. The Delivery Manager will be an individual contributor who brings operational leadership, project management and coordination to a team of developers and QA engineers.
- Develop and manage release schedules
- Oversee and coordinate release cycle timelines and milestones
- Identify opportunities for improving our software delivery systems and help coordinate cross-team collaboration to implement those improvements
- Manage delivery risks and issues, and take corrective action
- Facilitate decisions about changes to release plans, and in response to unexpected events affecting release schedules or processes
- Communicate delivery status, risks, and issues to stakeholders
- Coordinate monitoring of production issues and issue response processes
- Manage delivery metric collection, ensuring accuracy and currency
- Collaborate with product management and engineering to ensure that applications being delivered are validated and meet customer requirements
- Collaborate with delivery team engineers to ensure day to day priorities are correctly set, aligned on and executed
- Organize processes for gathering and triaging requests from teams who are blocked in delivering their work
Would be great if you brought this to the role
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Business)
- 3+ years of experience in delivery management for mobile and/or client applications
- Strong project and program management skills, including experience with project management tools (e.g. JIRA, Asana, Trello)
- Experience with CI/CD systems (e.g. GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Bitrise)
- Experience with monitoring/observability systems (e.g. MixPanel, Sentry, Play Console)
- Experience leading cross-functional teams developing mobile/extension applications
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban)
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Experience in the blockchain industry is a plus
Don’t meet all the requirements? Don’t sweat it. We’re passionate about building a diverse team of humans and as such, if you think you’ve got what it takes for our chaotic-but-fun, remote-friendly, start-up environment—apply anyway, detailing your relevant transferable skills in your cover letter.
Consensys is an equal opportunity employer. We encourage people from all backgrounds to apply. We are committed to ensuring that our technology is made available and accessible to everyone. All employment decisions are made without regard to race, color, national origin, ancestry, sex, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, genetic information, religion, disability, medical condition, pregnancy, marital status, family status, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
