THE JOB AT A GLANCE

As a Compliance Monitoring Officer, you will be reporting to the Compliance Officer. You will be responsible for conducting periodic compliance monitoring reviews to identify issues of non-compliance in the business. You will also be responsible for delivering effective compliance and risk monitoring plans (CRMP’s), conducting monitoring reviews and compiling monitoring reports across the RMA Group and any other associates of the Group as mandated.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Monitoring Planning and Implementation:

  • Completion of CRMP's and the themed monitoring as per the approved Annual Compliance Plan.
  • Facilitate Regulatory Control Workshops with affected Departments on upcoming planned Monitoring reviews.
  • Review and improve on the current compliance control environment (where required) on applicable legislation and new legislative developments via the CRMP’s.

Monitoring Reviews:

  • Conduct monitoring reviews of regulatory compliance, legislation and polices through manual processes / the electronic compliance software system.
  • Review the adequacy and effectiveness of the current controls and action plans.
  • Keep working papers and adhere to the Compliance Monitoring Methodology.

Monitoring Report:

  • Prepare the monitoring report as per Group Compliance standards.
  • Assist in presentation of the monitoring report to the stakeholders.
  • Follow up on and manage agreed actions with the business.
  • Capture all findings raised during monitoring reviews on the central findings register and update the register regularly.
  • Track the remediation progress of open findings raised during reviews to closure.

Adhoc Monitoring and other Initiatives:

  • Conduct adhoc monitoring and investigations.
  • Participate in regulatory projects implementation.
  • Maintain relationships with the Divisional areas, internal audit, and other related compliance & risk management functions.
  • Perform administrative tasks allocated to you by management from time-to-time 

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE?

  • LLB / BCom or Internal Audit Degree, or
  • Occupation Certificate: Compliance Officer (NQF Level 6) (Advantageous)
  • Professional Compliance Designations i.e. CPrac (SA) or AML CPrac (SA) (Advantageous)
  • 2 – 4 years 'experience in a similar role.
  • li >Member of the CISA (Advantageous).
  • Working knowledge of FAIS, Insurance Act, Long Term Insurance Act, Policyholder Protection Rules, AML will be an added advantage.
  • Strong planning and analytical skills.

Core Purpose

The Academic Monitoring Officer is responsible for coordinating, managing, and providing support to the Monitoring and Evaluation Department and the institution at all levels to ensure that all internal compliance related to accreditation is aligned to higher education regulatory requirements and any other relevant regulations.

Core Functions

The successful appointee will be responsible for delivering on important accreditation and quality assurance projects, including but not limited to:

Accreditation & Compliance
  • Assume responsibility to coordinate all compliance and regulatory tasks.
  • Facilitate the collating, compiling, and submitting the DHET Annual Report in adherence to the guidelines provided by the DHET.
  • Ensure that verification of SAQA records and overseeing NLRD uploads to the HEQCIS according to the standardized template issued.
  • Review and submit the HEQC accreditation applications and the SAQA and DHET applications in accordance with the criteria specified by each regulatory body.
  • Review and submit accreditation applications to the relevant professional bodies as determined by the appropriate committees.
  • Evaluate and upload approved HEQC reaccreditation applications for the DHET re-registration cycles and oversee the process by which the programmes were reviewed.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and coordinate the implementation of all regulatory requirements and conduct an annual internal institutional regulatory compliance review.
  • Attend appropriate meetings, conferences, or workshops held by regulatory bodies.
  • Coordinate the provision of timely responses and resolutions.
  • Coordinate the collating, compiling, and submitting institutional accreditation applications for regions.

Job Description

Qualifications and Experience Required:
  • Matric
  • IT Degree/Diploma or relevant Qualification
  • ITIL Foundation
  • Monitoring tool experience in Opmanager and Site 24 
  • CCNA, MCSE , ManagEngine Products
  • Experience with Network Management and Infrastructure support
  • Network support LAN/WAN, WIFI Expertise
  • +5 years team management experience 
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure best practices per device are set across all clients
  • Dependency mappings are done correctly
  • Taking ownership of the monitoring environment
  • Wan/LAN latency monitoring
  • Daily tasks and routines
  • Certificate application on central server and probes
  • Advise on where improvements can be made and assist with thismaan
  • Best-known procedures / call logging, escalations
  • Guidance and advice on APPMAN and Site 24/7
  • Manage security solutions, for all monitoring tools
  • Ensure monitoring standards are by Customer Policy
  • Maintain all Customers monitoring tools daily
  • Administer and maintain monitoring rules and alerts
  • Manage all monitoring for network hardware and equipment, routers, switches, and other Network Devices, infrastructure, servers, applications, and websites
  • Ensure reliable network connectivity the networks are monitored
  • Monitor all monitored devices and applications performance
  • Perform capacity monitoring of all systems for customers
  • Real-time monitoring and analysis of all alerts
  • Threshold-based monitoring for capacity and performance monitoring
  • Monitor hardware failures and backups
  • Ensure effective backups of configurations for monitored systems
  • Create priority incidents, make follow-ups, and communicate the status to affected users

Job Description

You will conduct sampling to ensure the Company adheres to its Policies, Procedures & Controls with the use of the Compliance Monitoring Program & Periodic reviews.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that clients due diligence is collected to the appropriate standard in line with our internal policies and procedures.
  • Conduct Periodic Reviews, record any deficiencies and generate action points for remediation.
  • Conduct client screening using our screening system and open-source searches.
  • Monitor and analyse the results of the automated ongoing screening system and conducting research on relevant parties where potential adverse matches are identified.
  • Conduct compliance monitoring in accordance with the compliance monitoring programme, to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and AML/CFT/CPF, record deficiencies and generate remediating action points.
  • Assist in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of internal policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of training materials for staff members on compliance topics.
  • Assist in providing day to day support/guidance to the staff as required in respect of compliance and AML/CFT/CPF matters.
  • Participate in training sessions to increase your knowledge and understanding of the regulatory environment.
  • Complete any other duties as and when required to drive business success.
  • Assisting with the project management of new initiatives.
  • Adopt and reflect company values.

  • Experience of working in a compliance environment.
  • An ability to articulate complex issues in a clear and concise manner.
  • An aptitude for problem solving.
  • A methodical approach to tasks with a strong focus on attention to detail.
  • Experience in collating and summarising data.
  • Excellent organisational skills; prioritising, achieving deadlines.
  • Consistently work at the standard required by the team and business.
  • A willing and flexible attitude to working hours to support team and business needs, as required.
