As a Manager in our Technology Group you will be accountable for successful delivery of consulting projects, growing our relationships in the market and helping us secure new business and growing the capabilities of our Technology Group in your area of specialism.

Key job duties or responsibilities:

  • Manage projects to assist our clients understand and unlock value from their IT investments, in the areas listed in the section above.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to senior and middle management level client stakeholders on their digital transformation efforts.
  • Facilitation of interviews and workshops with group participants at all levels of an organisation.

Role Summary:

PwC is seeking an experienced corporate tax specialist to join its Corporate and International Tax advisory team . The role requires mid-management level expertise in advising corporate clients on the tax implications of corporate and business transactions, group restructurings and financing arrangements. Specialist knowledge in the Energy, Mining and Utilities and/or Financial Services industries will be beneficial.

Qualifications / Certifications required :

Professional qualification in law (Admitted Attorney) and/or accounting.

Minimum NQF level 8 qualification (LLB / Honours degree) but an NQF level 9 qualification in Tax would be ideal (LLM / MCom in Tax) .

Experience required:

4 -7 years' experience in a Corporate Tax advisory environment with dedicated exposure to :

  • Advising clients on structuring business transactions, restructures, M&A activity and the tax implications thereof;

  • Drafting tax opinions and/or structuring decks on the implications of alternative courses of actions;

  • Research of complex tax issues;

  • Interpretation of tax legislation;

  • Liaison with SARS and Counsel regarding complex and uncertain tax matters;

  • Assist ance with the implementation of transactions including the r eview of financial models and/or t ransaction legal s from a tax perspective ; and

  • Cross-industry exposure ( e.g. Financial Services, Energy and Mining).

  • Offer guidance on local and international product wrappers, investment platforms, distribution channels, and the intricate web of tax and investment structures.
  • Conduct ongoing market analysis to stay abreast of the competitive landscape, both locally and globally, utilizing advanced portfolio construction tools to inform client recommendations.
  • Stay updated on market trends and provide insights to team and clients.

Qualifications and Experience required:

  • CA / CFA / MBA - Post Grad in Financial Industry.
  • High level of accountability and ownership
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A robust investment-related qualification, preferably at a postgraduate level (e.g., CFA, CFP, or equivalent).
  • 10+ years of experience in the investment industry, with a proven track record of success in investment consultancy.
  • Multi Management 3+ years.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial markets, investment products, and regulatory frameworks, particularly within the South African context.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and market trends.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building and maintaining relationships with a diverse set of clients.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools.

Responsibilities

As an (Senior) Manager, you'll work as part of a team of subject matter experts and experienced industry experts help clients implement operational improvement projects and solving complex business issues from strategy down to execution:

  • Maintain a competitive market knowledge
  • Identify opportunities for efficiencies in work process and innovative approaches to completing scope of work.
  • Solve customer business problems through strong client and internal team collaboration (specific customer in this case needs an experienced Scrum Master to plan and help manage a large Digital Transformation program)
  • Perform internal and external research and data analysis - gather and document user requirements, prepare user specifications of data requirements and reports, including analyzing data gaps and data specifications from the business or end-user's perspective
  • Build cross-functional partnerships, internally and externally
  • Define operating models and process re-engineering to optimize client processes to drive revenue, cost and performance metrics
  • Communicate user requirements to, and work closely with, the technical business analysts and/or systems developers
  • Drive completion of client work deliverables to highest degree of quality
  • Take ownership of deliverables at set quality standards, and redefine client engagement
  • Assist in proposal development, as requested.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics and Engineering required
  • Scrum Master certification, or relevant Project Management work experience
  • Minimum 7 years relevant work experience - must have one of Top-tier (MBB), Big-4 (Consulting) Management Consulting experience - Big-5 (GAFAM) experience highly favorable
  • At least 5 year experience in Telecom and/or Tech industries, technology and solution design experience, to support implementation of regulatory related initiatives.
  • Attention to details and possess an enquiring mind-set; did we mention attention to detail?
  • Strong written, verbal and collaboration skills, in English
  • Analytical thinking with high degree of numerical affinity
  • Professional, confident and highly motivated self-starter, with an ability to handle multiple engagements/projects in a fast pace environment
  • Demonstrate strategic and creative thinking, problem solving, and taking initiative.
  • Positive attitude to learn and strong team player
  • Possess strong values, personal integrity and emotional intelligence
  • Able to work under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Familiarity with system development lifecycle is preferred
