Our client is an asset management company, licensed and regulated by the GFSC, and has been in operation for over 30 years. They work with high-net-worth private clients, family offices, trusts, and institutions, offering products such as funds of hedge funds, bespoke managed accounts, and an Equity UCITS fund. With offices in Guernsey, London, Cape Town, and Singapore, they act as the investment manager and administrator for a range of managed accounts, as well as managing a PCC structure in Guernsey and a fund structure in the BVI. The majority of their investment activities involve hedge and alternative investments, allocating capital to unitised third-party hedge funds. Total assets under management are approximately $3.2 billion.

This role would require the successful individual to work within a highly experienced operations team. The position involves supporting the London based portfolio managers, assisting with the day-to-day administration of cash control, subscriptions and redemptions into the relevant funds, processing equity trades and hedge fund subscriptions / redemptions, reconciliations, client valuations and pricing.

Responsibilities :

  • Maintaining daily pricing

Retrieving pricing from inboxes and websites to ensure a daily track of pricing is maintained and monthly reviews of pricing are done

  • Assisting with the administration of clients
  • Fund Valuations

Assisting the team with valuation review of Funds. Reviewing investment restrictions on a monthly basis for the funds

  • Liaising with Fund Administrators / Custodians / London Office

Ensuring timely instruction and settlement of trades, transfers and client instructions

  • Monthly Dealing

Assisting the team with the monthly dealing cycle

  • Confirmation of Funds received

Ensuring accurate recording of all cash received and associated source of funds information

Requirements :

  • At least 3-5 years’ experience in an administration role, preferably with a good understanding of funds. An investment accounting / daily trading / unitisation role would be ideal
  • Be conscientious, have initiative and be able to work reasonably autonomously after the initial training period
  • Have an understanding of trading / banking facilities / forex arrangements / markets
  • Have an aptitude for numerical work and strong computer skills, especially Excel
  • APX / InvetOne / Fundamentals experience – i.e. understand and be familiar with working on investment accounting systems

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate cross functionally with the customer support, sales, product and compliance teams to design and refine customer journeys from onboarding to transaction fulfillment, ensuring each touchpoint reflects operational excellence.
  • Support strategic initiatives such as launching new financial products or enhancing operational risk frameworks.
  • Act as a key stakeholder in operational readiness assessments and go-to-market execution plans.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Banking, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in banking operations, with at least 2 years in a fintech or digital banking environment.
  • Strong understanding of digital payment ecosystems (EFT, card networks, instant payments, and merchant services)
  • Proven ability to manage risk and ensure compliance in a fast-paced regulatory landscape.

  • Build relationships with Finance, Call Centres and other internal and external teams to ensure optimal resolution of escalations and quick responses and implementation on development requests or information needed.
  • Communicate changes in process / notifications from processors or banks and any other relevant information regarding Monies in to other departments to ensure knowledge sharing and to enable other teams to be better prepared to manage the customer’s experience.
  • Investigate and Review competitor’s offerings through daily research and query/escalation monitoring and put forward researched suggestions of changes required to improve our offering and ultimately our customers experience with our brand.
  • Identify possible risk areas in process or systems with suggestions for changes required to management to mitigate these risk areas and protect our Brand form financial loss or abuse.
  • Consistently be improving skills and knowledge through Self-Development and Upskilling in all areas.
  • Perform manual reconciliations where necessary.
  • Identify data/statement issues and escalate to Appropriate 3rd party or internal departments to have issues resolved.
  • Being able to Trouble shoot issues directly with 3rd party Processors, and internal departments to identify cause and put forward researched solutions suggestions to fix any current issues that might occur and prevent issues from occurring in future.
  • Must be aware of current and upcoming sporting events and have insight on events that could contribute to volume spikes in the business.
  • Assist with integration testing and on boarding of new processing providers
  • Continuously review and evaluate the customer journey and actively take part in improving the customer’s experience.
  • Identify and put forward areas for improvement in efficiency around process or policies through automation, bulk functions or enhancements to manual processes.
  • Monitor Monies In reports and statistics daily to highlight spikes and alerts to management and 3rd parties to ensure minimal customer negative impact and quick resolutions.
  • Work closely with the Call Centre to monitor volumes whilst investigating possible impacted areas and assist Call centre management to identify root causes of volume drivers and escalate to relevant responsible teams to take quick action.
  • Include detailed analysis of shifts in handovers outlining the volume drivers and important information or actions taken during shift to ensure management and the team is always up to date and able to take follow up actions post shifts.
  • Effectively communicate findings concerning processing issues to relevant stakeholders with informative and detailed supporting analysis of the issues being experienced so stakeholders can make informed decisions and take relevant actions.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Intermediate / Advanced Excel Skills.
  • A good functional understanding of transactional processing via Mobile money, Cards, E-cash/E-Wallet, Internet Banking and voucher purchases.
  • Have a technical understanding of data sources, analysing of data and reporting
  • Strong ability to identify tends in processing through detailed analysis.

Evaluate, design, and continuously refine banking operational processes in line with fintech best practice, focusing on automation, scalability, and efficiency. Manage day-to-day operations across various payment rails (EFT, card networks, instant payments, and merchant services), working closely with internal and external stakeholders to monitor and maintain uptime and integrity across all payment systems. Act as the business operations lead for integration and management of third-party vendors, banking partners, and the core banking system partner, ensuring service-level agreements (SLAs) are met, and that incidents are resolved promptly with minimal disruption. Use data dashboards and reports to track key operational metrics, including activation rates, transaction success rates, customer onboarding speed, compliance indicators, and turnaround times. Collaborate cross functionally with the customer support, sales, product and compliance teams to design and refine customer journeys from onboarding to transaction fulfillment, ensuring each touchpoint reflects operational excellence. Support strategic initiatives such as launching new financial products or enhancing operational risk frameworks. Act as a key stakeholder in operational readiness assessments and go-to-market execution plans. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Banking, or related field. 5+ years of experience in banking operations, with at least 2 years in a fintech or digital banking environment. Strong understanding of digital payment ecosystems (EFT, card networks, instant payments, and merchant services) Proven ability to manage risk and ensure compliance in a fast-paced regulatory landscape. Hands-on experience with KYC/AML processes, transaction monitoring, and dispute resolution. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills. Experience with operations automation, CRM platforms, and BI reporting is a plus. Preferred Attributes: Experience launching or scaling operations in a startup or high-growth fintech. Familiarity with South African fintech ecosystems and regulators (e.g., SARB, FSCA). Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities. Job Description

Our client, a leading Asset Management Firm, is looking for a qualified Data Operations Analyst. As a Data Operations Analyst, you will:

  1. Maintain relationships with Portfolio Managers, Dealers, and Performance & Risk, Client Operations and Reporting teams. Understand their queries and the impact a data issue has on their function/process, manage their expectations, and consider changes to avoid a recurrence.
  2. Have a key relationship with Investment Operations and assist in data queries which arise in that team.
  3. Maintain relationship with Data team as well as assist in the oversight of that team.
  4. Maintain relationship with other data providers (Benchmark Data Provider) and assist in oversight of that team, ensuring quality of benchmark data.
  5. Create securities required for trading.
  6. Maintain security static data.
  7. Perform daily system and data reconciliations.
  8. Review NAV reconciliations, investigate breaks and communicate to impacted business users of the data.
  9. Assist with the implementation of new products and new instruments from a data operations perspective.
  10. Continually review and update processes and procedures to reduce risk and improve efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • BCom / BBus Sci or other similar degrees.

Experience:

  • At least 3-5 years relevant industry and operational experience.
  • Experience of liaising with individuals at all levels and across business.
  • Bloomberg experience.
  • Basic SQL experience.
  • Strong Excel knowledge.
