Supply Chain & Inventory Specialist
A leading player in the automotive sector is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Supply Chain & Inventory Specialist to manage and coordinate critical processes related to Platinum Group Metals (PGM) supply, inventory, purchasing, and compliance. This is a high-impact role offering exposure across multiple departments, suppliers, and regulatory bodies, with the chance to contribute meaningfully to the supply chain and production stability.
Your key responsibilities will include :
Monitoring and correcting variances in PGM Pool Inventory volumes across Coaters and Canners by generating and analysing monthly SAP variance reports.
Conducting year-end physical inventory audits at Canner sites to verify stock accuracy.
Liaising with suppliers to confirm inventory requirements and ensure a continuous PGM supply chain.
Preparing and submitting the Financial Liquidity report to support budget compliance.
Creating and issuing PGM Purchase Order Authorisations via SAP to guarantee timely PGM availability.
Reviewing and approving supplier invoices for PGM purchases to ensure alignment with pre-approved pricing structures.
Issuing PGM Sales Invoices through SAP to exporters, ensuring financial recovery within stipulated timeframes.
Managing and maintaining accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) in SAP to prevent over- or under-recovery.
Compiling and submitting the annual PGM Inventory forecast to the Strategic Finance Planning Team.
Ensuring regulatory compliance by preparing and submitting the Beneficiation License Register (Diamond Report) to the SA Diamond and Precious Metals Regulator.
Ensuring price alignment between the VW Group and local Coaters / Canners for accurate pricing models.
Managing supplier capacity by maintaining relationships with local suppliers and supporting VW Group part production.
Proactively preventing line stoppages by supporting Coaters and Canners with immediate and long-term solutions.
Facilitating problem-solving and cross-functional stakeholder involvement to mitigate risks.
Developing and maintaining Work Instructions for all PGM-related tasks and reports.
Leading risk assessments across departments for all PGM-related activities.
About You
To thrive in this role, you’ll need a strong mix of analytical, supply chain, and commercial skills.
Essential Requirements :
A Degree or National Diploma in Purchasing, Logistics, Finance, Commerce, or Business Management.
At least 3 years of direct purchasing experience, preferably within the automotive industry.
Solid knowledge of PGM-specific procurement policies, procedures, and South African regulatory frameworks.
Advanced skills in strategic thinking, data analysis, problem solving, and planning.
Strong negotiation skills and fact-based decision-making ability.
Sound commercial, technical, and legal acumen.
Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation, and organizational skills.
High-level proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and SAP—particularly in BOM and inventory functions.
Demonstrated financial analysis and costing experience.
Strong interpersonal and supplier engagement skills.
Ability to interpret and work with technical data.
Self-motivated, proactive, and goal-oriented.

Operations Administration
- Engage with the showroom regional managers and showroom managers to understand and set out stock related priorities for the day / week etc and assignment of tasks as per priority.
- Engage with showroom manager to understand resource allocations for various tasks to ensure work is distributed appropriately.
- To actively engage with the showroom manager / Stockroom clerk to plan and produce a daily forecast work plan for the next day based on tasks and priorities and ensure daily goals are established at a person and task level.
- Track operational metrics eg Count progress / Liquidation during execution of task and escalate problematic performance to line manager.
- Manage timelines for counts and liquidation controls
- Follow ups on Liquidation with the Courier to ensure delivery of ALL stock handed over to coutier by showroom arrives at DC.
- Executes ad hoc tasks as per the business requirements.
- Manage ageing of all tasks created by Inventory department and ensure all items closed within SLA.
- Gain a high level of process and system knowledge to perform 1st line of troubleshooting for staff.
- Act as escalation point for all system related issues to WMS analyst and ensure timely closure of issues.
- Provide data and or reporting for daily, weekly, monthly reporting requirements.
- Monitors the Showroom inventory team and individual outputs in order to maximise the efficiency of the department.
Administration
- Timely and accurate administration of all departmental trackers pertaining to people and operational process.
- These include but are not limited to attendance, absenteeism, leave registers, departmental data capturing eg performance, efficiency, effectiveness etc.
- Provide data and or reporting for daily, weekly, monthly reporting requirements.
- Records minutes and manages closure for minutes within agreed timelines.

Position: Supply Chain SupervisorPosition: Supply Chain SupervisorJob Description:
The Supply Chain Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all warehouse functions are done timeously and accurately.
Location: Shoprite Basson Cold StorageContract Type: PermanentMinimum Requirements:Minimum Experience:
- Clear understanding of WMS
- Experience in a Logistics and Distribution environment
- Computer literate (MS Office)
- 6 months or more experience
- Must be familiar with WMS
Minimum Qualification:
- Grade 12

Roles and Responsibilities:- Monitor attendance of all staff;
- Ensure all workers are wearing the correct PPE;
- Administer leave for all employees in the shift;
- Responsible for all Forward Planning;
- Ensure that Training; Performance management, and succession planning of the TES Supervisors are in place;
- Compile Daily complement report and send to ADFusion Shift Manager;
- Ensure all toolbox tasks are completed before the shift starts;
- Ensure the shift runs well and queries are dealt with timeously in liaison with ADfusion Shift Manager. Ensure that process compliance is checked;
- Ensure all Health and Safety regulations are adhered to;
- Ensure Housekeeping is done at the end of each shift;
- Ensure Cycle count is accurately done on each shift;
- Ensure registers are completed every day for every shift;
- Ensure that staff admin is accurate;
- Ensure employees are paid the correct rates;
- Monitor the Clock in the Report;
- Manage Overtime worked and scheduled;
- Manage Incentives;
- Provide daily feedback to the Client;
- Attend daily planning meetings with the client;
- Provide feedback on training;
- Provide feedback on staff complement;
- Provide feedback on KPAs met and missed;
