As an international field service engineer you are part of a team that is responsible for Field Service work (commissioning operation testing integration optimization maintenance and repair) worldwide.

This includes on call technical phone support and field response to equipment and customer issues.

You will provide detailed field reports that are useful for the whole organization after every installation or technical intervention and give support to Sales and Project Management.

You will also provide training of customer maintenance and service personnel on site as well as TSS Service Engineers.

Qualifications : Candidate Profile

You are flexible willing to travel abroad and you meet the following requirements :

  • Solid understanding of mechanical engineering
  • Working knowledge of basic electrical power circuits and PLC circuits would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and configurations is considered a plus
  • Basic understanding of programming preferably C C Java or Python are considered to be a plus
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers internal and external associates and management.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and / or other languages are e considered to be a plus
  • A valid drivers license with a good driving record
  • Willing to travel abroad for at least 80% of the time based on a flexible schedule. This means it could be also during weekends or in holiday seasons.

The role mentors junior technicians, monitors device performance, stays updated on technology, and prioritizes customer satisfaction through clear communication and diligent service.**Your Role:**• This is a multimodality Field Service Position with CT been the primary modality• Serves as the technical resource for implementing solutions that require analysis of situations or data, and an in-depth knowledge of the solution.• Prepares site assessments.• Provides technical review of system configurations to ensure viability of system performance.• Prepares as-built drawings to document work completed during project or particular job.• Resolves complex customer issues requiring independent judgment based on strong CT knowledge and skills.• Provides remote and on-site technical support to installed customer base.• Instructs customers in the operation and maintenance of the Philips solution.• Performs regular maintenance, completes required technical modifications, and conducts troubleshooting and repair to remedy issues.• Escalates any technical configuration that is not consistent with technical standards.• Proactively suggests process and product improvements based on site experiences and IT knowledge.• Delivers customer projects that require analysis of situations and full understanding of the solution being implemented.• Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, works independently, and should be able to take the lead role in most customer engagements.• Exercises independent judgment to adapt to typical variances in the customer environment for obtaining effective results.• Properly completes assigned project activities with responsibility for results within project work estimates and defined delivery methods• Works in conjunction with internal project managers, clinical application consultants, field service engineers, senior Technical Consultants, third-party entities, and customer technical lead.• Provides regular status of installation activities to project manager, other team members, and functional manager.• Collaborates with Account Manager to assist in the solution selling process.• Diagnoses and resolves technical hardware and software issues (remotely & on-site).• Analyzes reported problems via Remote Service functionality and/or direct contact with the site and collaborates with the Customer Care Solutions Center support engineer to identify, analyze and develop a resolution plan and take the actions required to resolve a customer’s issues. Resolution plans which exceed the individual’s skill or experience level are escalated to the next support level. Regular updates regarding the status of the repair activity are communicated to the customer and Philips management.**You are the right fit if:**• Clinical or Electrical or Computing Systems Engineering. The Role

Field Service Technician, you'll be the trusted on-site expert for air compressors, vacuum pumps, and related systems. You'll keep mission-critical equipment running smoothly, while also identifying opportunities to grow service contracts, spares, and system sales. This role blends technical problem-solving with customer relationship building to ensure long-term success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Minimum 3-5 years hands-on experience servicing, installing, and repairing air compressors, vacuum pumps, or similar equipment
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, delivering clear recommendations and solutions
  • Manage service schedules, communicate professionally with clients, and complete reports on time
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with engineers, technicians, and maintenance teams
  • Identify new opportunities, cold-call prospects, and contribute to achieving sales targets for service contracts, repairs, and equipment
  • Track completed services and encourage repeat servicing to improve customer retention
  • Collaborate with the sales team on territory strategies and opportunities
  • Travel as needed (including occasional cross-border trips), ensuring a valid passport is maintained
About You
  • National Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering, or Millwright trade qualification (preferred)
  • Proven technical knowledge of air compressors (essential); additional exposure to vacuum pumps, blowers, valves, or instrumentation advantageous
  • Strong commercial mindset, comfortable promoting service contracts, spares, and solutions on site
  • Clear, professional communicator with solid reporting and customer-facing skills
  • Proactive, organised self-starter with strong reasoning, problem-solving, and multitasking ability
  • Team player who can also work independently to achieve objectives without close supervision
