Our client in the telecommunications sector is looking for a well-experienced and highly professional ICT Infrastructure Project Manager on a contract duration of 12 months.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • The Core Infrastructure Project Manager will have had at least 10 years' experience in managing multiple large complex projects or programmes, including at least 5 years as the Project Manager for major, complex, cross-cutting ICT delivery projects.
  • The Infrastructure Project Manager should have a Core Degree in an appropriate discipline from a recognised institution and be a member of an appropriate professional institution. PMP Certification and PRINCE2 Practitioner Certification is highly desirable. A Master’s Degree is advantageous.
  • The Infrastructure Project Manager will need to be very familiar and have specific experience with end-to-end management of the following ICT projects and programs:
  • Data Centre – Mechanical and Electrical Infrastructure Upgrades.
  • Integration Infrastructure Testing and Cutovers in a LIVE ENVIRONMENT.
  • The Infrastructure Project Manager will have demonstrable experience in most of the following areas:
  • Sensitivity: Public
  • Engagement at executive management level in large enterprises.
  • Presenting Programme and Project progress reports to executive management level.
  • Capturing and understanding stakeholder needs, desires, and expectations and analysing the impact of the project on stakeholders, gaining and maintaining stakeholder support, managing stakeholder communications, and mitigating stakeholder resistance.
  • Establishing processes and procedures for maintaining programme/project management oversight and decision-making support throughout the course of the project/s.
  • Establishing project control processes and practices and implementing appropriate tools for efficient project management.
  • Working closely with other Project Managers, Customer Project Managers, Service Managers, and other key stakeholders in identifying and managing dependencies.
  • Regularly tracking and reporting on the health of all Projects to relevant stakeholders.
  • Setup and coordination of Virtual Project Teams and virtual meetings.
  • Identifying, managing, and reporting Project level risks and issues.
  • Managing suppliers and contractors who are responsible for elements of the project/s.
  • Ensuring adherence to the defined project delivery processes for the organisation.
  • Planning, organizing, and facilitating senior manager level workshops for scoping and planning, and to solve complex problems (using problem-solving techniques like brainstorming, mind-mapping, etc.).
  • Deployment of best project management practices and suggesting improvements in the organisation's defined project management approach.
  • Establishing and maintaining processes to assure the quality of the project deliverables.
  • Facilitate seamless transfer of Projects to Support and Service Management.
  • Sunset Programme by supporting Assurance processes for a period of at least 1 month.
  • Support ongoing ICT enabled business transformation.
  • Experience in implementing Change Management in SML Enterprises.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety Act including working with SHE specialist.
  • Experience in handling complex projects and customer-facing.
  • Demonstrate a great skill in stakeholder management and relationship building.
  • The Infrastructure Project Manager is not required to travel as the role is based in Gauteng. The general medium of engagement will consist of virtual meetings using Microsoft Teams; however, meetings at Head Office or with Customers may be required on occasion. The Infrastructure Project Manager will therefore be required to apply for access to the company's Domain and associated communication applications from their own laptop.

The Opportunity

We are looking for Energy and Infrastructure, Senior Project Managers who can offer a range of skills from stakeholder, human, integration, scope, risk management, cost management, time, procurement, communication, design, construction, health & safety, quality management & environment management across the project life cycle. As we built confidence, we will grow this team with specific project control functions to offer a range of service on large projects across different sectors.

This position is based in Johannesburg or Cape Town.

Develop detailed project execution plans for to ensure successful delivery of projects. Work collaboratively with the Client and the Arup team. Manage and coordinate the integration of technical activities to enable Arup to achieve its objectives. Ensure projects deliverables comply with design standards, legal regulations, environmental standards, and necessary permits.

Identify potential project risks and devise mitigation strategies. Maintain relationships with stakeholders, including governments, local communities, suppliers, contractors, and team members. Ensure Arup delivers quality service to our clients. Implement quality control measures to ensure project standards and performance objectives are met. Oversee and report on the project’s progress to senior management and stakeholders. Technical knowledge in the energy and infrastructure field. Ability to consult with others to develop the level of knowledge required for the role. Utilises the company’s knowledge network to adopt best practices in approach to work. Have a good understanding of Construction of projects.

Role Overview:
They are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in municipal infrastructure to lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary teams, engaging with municipal stakeholders, and delivering projects on time, within scope, and on budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end management of municipal infrastructure projects from inception to close-out.
  • Oversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, municipal requirements, and engineering standards.
  • Liaise with municipalities, consultants, contractors, and community representatives.
  • Manage risks, resolve issues, and implement effective project controls.
  • Monitor progress, prepare reports, and maintain quality and safety standards.

Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (BTech or BSc preferred).
  • Professional registration (Pr Eng / Pr Tech Eng) will be an advantage.

South African National Parks (SANParks) invite applications for a fixed term contract position for 3 (three) years from suitably qualified and experienced persons to manage infrastructure projects Nxanatseni and Marula Regions.

This position will report to the Programme Manager: Kruger National Park.

The incumbents will be expected to provide own accommodation outside the park hence the package took that into account.

  • Registration with the South African Council for Project and Construction Management Professions as a Professional Construction Project Manager (SACPCMP) or any other relevant professional body.
  • Minimum of 6 years inproject and construction management experience.
  • 3-5 years Management experience in a similar senior role.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the relevant acts, i.e., PFMA, OHS, Construction and Environmental Management Regulations, FIPDM etc.
  • Experience in labour intensive construction work will be an advantage.
  • A valid Code EB driver’s license and Microsoft Office software competency.
