Description

We have an exciting position available as a Data Quality Officer to be based at Northwest, Bojanala Platinum.

To provide technical assistance and direct support to the DoH data systems to ensure adherence to high data quality standards at all levels of the District Health System. This position will support the DoH to specifically review and verify data recorded across the various sources to enable quality reporting for improved programme planning. The candidate will capacitate DoH and RtC-ANGLO personnel in data quality to strengthen the data management systems and processes of the department. The role is to coordinate all data related reporting activities in the district to and conduct facility assessments as guided by RtC–ANGLO to identify support needs as required to ensure data is of good quality.

Requirements

Required Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or qualification in data management related field OR post-graduate qualification in data analytics and monitoring and evaluation
  • Background in research and/or other data related field
  • Capacity building and experience conducting monitoring and evaluation experience for various stakeholders
  • Three years’ experience in data quality assurance
  • Post-matric diploma in computer literacy including MS Excel, OR equivalent experience would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of HIV/AIDS, STI and TB Program
  • Proficiency in English
  • Driver’s license

Desirable Qualifications And Experience

  • 3 years’ experience in managing HIV/AIDS, STI and TB-related data, including data verification, quality assurance and reporting
  • 3 years’ experience in working with DoH data management/M&E systems (including Tier.Net, DHIS, HPRS, Epi-Collect, CommCare and Advanced Excel)
  • 3 years’ experience in managing staff is an advantage
  • 3 years’ experience in training / facilitation is an advantage
  • M&E training would be an added advantage Attention to detail; aptitude for, and interest in, numbers; good interpersonal skills; logical thinking; innovative; analytical thinking; ability to work independently and in a team
