POSITION INFO:
Our client based in Pretoria is seeking to appoint an experienced and dynamic Tax/Accounting Manager to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified professional with a strong background in accounting and tax, proven leadership ability, and experience managing multiple client portfolios.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and review a portfolio of clients’ financials and tax obligations
- Oversee preparation and submission of VAT, PAYE, and Income Tax returns
- Review and approve Annual Financial Statements (AFS)
- Ensure full SARS compliance and handle SARS queries, audits, and correspondence
- Prepare and review management accounts and monthly reporting packs
- Perform reconciliations (debtors, creditors, bank, loan accounts)
- Supervise and train junior staff and review their work for accuracy and compliance
- Handle payroll reviews and ensure EMP501 reconciliation and submissions
- Assist clients with tax planning, compliance advice, and business structuring
- Liaise directly with clients regarding financial queries and strategic tax advice
- Keep up to date with changes in tax laws and accounting standards
- Monitor internal controls and ensure best practices in all financial processes
- Degree in Accounting or Taxation (BCom Accounting, BCompt, or similar)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience at an accounting or tax firm
- Experience managing multiple client accounts
- Proven ability to lead and mentor a team
- Proficiency in accounting software
- Own reliable transport and valid driver’s license
- Reliable home WiFi connection (for hybrid or remote work as needed)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
