- A relevant tertiary degree would be beneficial (Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, etc.)
- An ITIL v3 or v4 certification would be ideal.
- Certified Identity and Access Manager (CIAM) would be beneficial.
- 3-5 years of IAM, IT Security, or related experience.
- Financial services or private equity experience preferred.
- Proficient in IAM tools (e.g., Okta, SailPoint, CyberArk, Azure AD, etc.).
- Strong understanding of security protocols (e.g., SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, LDAP, etc.).
- Familiarity with directory and cloud services (e.g., Active Directory, Azure AD, AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.).
- Experience with scripting languages for automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python, etc.).

The Role:
The IAM & PAM Lead Analyst is a key position within the Information Security function, responsible for leading the strategy, implementation, and ongoing management of Apex’s Identity & Privileged Access Management (IAM & PAM) frameworks. This role covers both user identity lifecycle and privileged access governance across the organization. It will report directly to the Identity & Privileged Access Manager and work closely with global stakeholders in IT, Security, Risk, and Compliance.
Key duties and responsibilities:
Identity & Access Management (IAM)
- Lead operational IAM activities, including joiner-mover-leaver processes, access provisioning, role-based access control (RBAC), and periodic access reviews.
- Collaborate with IT and HR systems to ensure alignment and automation of identity lifecycle workflows.
- Participate in IAM governance efforts and help design access policies and controls for both enterprise and cloud applications.
- Support continuous improvement and maturity of IAM processes and tools.
Privileged Access Management (PAM)
- Oversee the privileged access lifecycle for critical systems, including administration of Apex’s enterprise PAM solution (CyberArk).
- Drive the global implementation and optimisation of PAM tools, controls, and automation.
- Maintain the integrity of privileged access processes including provisioning, session monitoring, credential management, and access certifications.
- Identify, assess, and remediate risks associated with privileged access.
- Lead audits and compliance reviews related to privileged and elevated access.
- Create and maintain PAM policies, standards, and operational documentation.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to regional teams and end-users on PAM best practices.
Experience and Knowledge:
- 5–8 years of experience in Identity and Access Management, with a strong focus on Privileged Access Management.
- Deep understanding of IAM/PAM principles, role-based access control, authentication methods, and zero-trust architecture.
- Demonstrated expertise with CyberArk.
- Experience leading PAM deployments in large, complex environments.
- Strong familiarity with Active Directory, Azure AD, LDAP, SAML, OAuth, and cloud access management.
- Experience in the financial services or highly regulated industry is a strong advantage.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including experience working across IT, InfoSec, and business teams.
- High attention to detail, well-organised, and effective at managing competing priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- CyberArk Defender, CyberArk Sentry or relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM and CIAM will be encouraged.

We are hiring an Engineering Manager for IAM (Identity and Access Management) to build high-performing Go and Python services and secure identity and access management solutions that will be used across all company products. From Ubuntu One SSO to Juju, LXD and MAAS your team will define the way Canonical users, clients and community members access their favorite open source applications.
This is an opportunity for a software engineering manager with a passion for distributed systems operations to help us transform the future of identity management at Canonical. Experience in the identity and access management (IAM) field is desirable but not required. You will work with upstream open source projects, alongside internal teams to deliver high quality software that can be deployed on bare metal, public cloud and Kubernetes.
As the identity team engineering manager you will bring significant software development experience, Kubernetes knowledge and a keen eye for software design, performance and security. You will be responsible for working with product management to define the technical vision for the products, managing the team backlog, reviewing code and coaching younger team members.
You will also be involved in all the aspects of the software development process: you will design software, write high-quality code and tests, provide insightful code reviews, write documentation and help to troubleshoot issues.
In addition to the engineering behind the project itself, you'll have the chance to work with industry-leading teams inside Canonical, ensuring your work is backed by rock-solid data stores, and highly observable using our Kubernetes-based Observability stack. You'll work with broader open source communities, participating in "hackfest" events, webinars and conferences.
Location: This role will be based remotely in the EMEA or AMER regions.
What we are looking for in you
- Proven experience hiring and leading a high performance software engineering team
- Experience with Go and Python software development
- Ability to design and implement complex, distributed system
- Experience working with container technology and Kubernetes
- Strong understanding of software/infrastructure security and performance

Our client is a group of companies distributing very well-known brands in South Africa and specialising in general access control solutions like intercom systems, parking management, automatic bollards and turnstiles. They are the market leader in audio and video intercoms and are expanding into home automation and control of photovoltaic systems and other specialised security products.
Job Purpose and Overview:
If you are looking to take charge of the SALES PROJECTS for our new CCTV and ACCESS CONTROL division in our group of companies, you are able to promote the products and solutions we are going to distribute, provide customer support, and contribute to the success of our Company, then we have an opportunity for you!
You will need suitable experience and must bring with you an existing client base and proven success in sales projects you have completed. We are looking for a person who can ‘hit the ground running”! The successful candidate must be able to start creating turnover immediately.
You must have your own reliable transport and be living within close proximity of our offices. You are flexible and a real self-starter, capable of succeeding with minimal supervision. You must have a demonstrable record of achievement preferably in CCVT and Access Control fields, a level of acumen commensurate with this important role and a real can-do attitude.
Experience and Skills Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales / internal sales / counter sales.
- Have an existing portfolio of projects and customers you have already assisted and which you can easily continue to assist in the future.
- Experience in calling on existing and assigned customers in accordance with call cycles agreed with the company Manager.
- Develop new customers in accordance with the Company’s strategy.
- Experience in designing CCTV systems matching Customer’s needs and features available from the systems we distribute.
- When required, serve and assist customers at the Office trade counter;
- Be able to give product demonstrations and POC at the office or at the customer premises.
- Rendering excellent after sales service to customers including technical support and information in the initial phase of the project.
- Be able to prepare and process quotations, orders, invoicing and preparing packaging of the products.
- Experience in a distribution environment is a plus.
- You have a good understanding of how to fault find on CCTV systems.
- Knowledge of MS Office package (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
- You are strongly committed to customer satisfaction, prepared to go the extra mile, eager to learn and understand and be proactive.
- You have a good knowledge of IT networks and are able to work with them.
- Installation background is a bonus.

THE TERRITORY
You will be based at our office in Malvern East, Germiston. You will be required to interact with our customers on a national basis even though our main area is Gauteng. However, there is no limitation on the territory.
THE PACKAGE
The role attracts:
- A basic salary which can range from R15k up to R35k/month Basic (R180k-R420K/year) based on the business potential you bring and your proven sales expertise.
- 15 days holiday per year.
Please Note:
During or after the first interview at the company office in Johannesburg, the candidates will be required to do a technical test to assess their knowledge and capabilities as well as their areas of strength and weakness. The test will consist in designing a CCTV system after having received a brief from a potential customer.
