We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist / Consultant to join our dynamic and fast-paced team. This is a hands-on role for a seasoned HR professional who thrives in a challenging environment and can take ownership of the full HR administration function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and exit processes
  • Maintain and update HR systems and employee records
  • Handle HR reporting and assist with compliance and audits
  • Support line managers with HR processes and policy interpretation
  • Liaise with payroll and ensure HR documentation is in order
  • Provide basic IR support and escalate when necessary

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 8 years’ experience in an HR environment (essential)
  • Matric (required)
  • A Diploma or Degree in Human Resources or similar (advantageous)
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills
  • Strong working knowledge of recruitment, onboarding, HR systems, and reporting
  • Ability to work independently and manage a heavy workload
  • Fluency in Xhosa (non-negotiable)
  • Some understanding of Labour Relations / IR processes (although full IR experience is not essential)

Recruitment Support :

  • Assist in job posting creation and distribution on various platforms.
  • Schedule interviews.
  • Coordinate with hiring managers to facilitate the recruitment process.

Onboarding and Offboarding :

  • Coordinate new hire onboarding process, including paperwork, orientation sessions, and training schedules.
  • Process employee terminations and handle offboarding procedures.
  • Ensure all onboarding and offboarding documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.

HR Administration :

  • Maintain employee records, including personal information, attendance, and performance evaluations.

Minimum education and experience :

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of Human Resources experience.
  • At least 3 years of payroll experience.

Additional requirements :

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, HRIS such as PaySpace.
  • Exposure to payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, SAP).
  • Good knowledge of employment/labor law.
  • Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

About The Role:

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting day-to-day HR operations and assisting with the administration of a wide range of HR functions. This includes employee onboarding, benefits administration, performance management support, HR compliance, HRIS data maintenance, and employee engagement initiatives. The HR Generalist reports to and serves as a key partner to the Director of People & Culture in implementing HR strategies and ensuring the smooth delivery of HR services throughout the organization.

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and maintain accurate employment posters and internal communications boards
  • Foster a positive employee experience by supporting employee relations, engagement initiatives, and special projects
  • Assist with HR investigations, exit interviews, and termination documentation
  • Manage E-Verify, new hire reporting to the Department of Workforce Services, and COBRA notifications
  • Schedule and manage compliance-related exams and programs (Visual Acuity, Pulmonary/Respiratory)
  • Prepare reports, support audits, and maintain HR documentation including data retention and electronic files
  • Coordinate internal events, recognition activities, and represent the company at job fairs
