Position Overview

This Talent Acquisition role will provide critical administrative and operational support to the HR department and firm leadership. Core Responsibilities

Recruiting Support

  • Coordinate with external recruiting agencies and search firms; ensure timely communication, follow-ups, and candidate updates.
  • Manage job postings and candidate pipelines using Workable ATS (or similar).
  • Schedule and confirm interviews, send candidate communications, and maintain accurate recruitment records.
  • Assist with resume screening and initial candidate outreach when needed.

HR & Administrative Support

  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding, including document collection, systems setup, and internal coordination.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure data integrity in HR systems.

Team Engagement & Events

Workflow, Organization & Technology

  • Proactively manage and organize multiple projects, shifting priorities as needed without losing attention to detail.
  • Identify process improvements to increase efficiency across HR operations.
  • Navigate and manage multiple tools and systems (HRIS, ATS, communication platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, etc.).
  • Leverage AI and language model (LM) tools (such as ChatGPT or similar) to enhance recruiting, communication, and workflow automation.
  • Utilize AI systems for drafting correspondence, organizing data, sourcing candidates, and supporting HR analytics and reporting.
  • Support integration of new systems and tools with flexibility and problem-solving.
  • 1–3 years of experience in HR or administrative support, ideally in legal, corporate, or professional services settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt quickly while maintaining accuracy and professionalism .
  • Strong proficiency with Workable ATS or similar platforms.

We are seeking an experienced EB Talent Acquisition Specialist that has a passion for achieving results, finding talent within the Employee Benefits Industry and engaging with management to ensure business needs are met.

Duties and Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition:

  • Assist managers where needed in completing quality and complete Employee Requisition Forms (ERF), as well as ensure all approved forms are approved before seeking candidates.
  • Draft and publish vacancy adverts, both for internally and externally using a variety of platforms e.g. social media, job boards etc.
  • Actively head hunt for talent using a variety of platforms e.g. social media, job boards etc.
  • Thoroughly screen all applications received against the criteria of the vacancies and screening checklist, then communicate qualifying CVs to the hiring managers for decision making.
  • Ensure all shortlisted candidates complete a completed Vacancy Application Form, before scheduling interviews. Attached the completed Vacancy Application Form and CV to the interview invite.
  • Attend all interviews as the HR Representative, except for management where the Head of HR needs to be included. Should you not be able to attend an interview, the HR Business Partner serves as a back-up.
  • Complete the Interview Guide during the interview.
  • Conduct various assessments on shortlisted candidates.
  • Follow up with hiring managers on hiring decisions and conduct reference checks, confirmation of employment with previous employers, MIE checks for all vacancies. Certain Specialist and all Managerial candidates need to undergo psychometric assessments. Financial candidates need to complete financial assessments.
  • Provide all shortlisting documentation as mentioned above, together with salary comparison spreadsheet (prepared by Payroll) to the hiring manager to obtain final hiring approval from the COO.
  • Once hiring approval has been obtained from the COO, draft Offer Letter inclusive of Job Description and Dummy Payslip (prepared by Payroll).
  • Communicate Offer Letters, Job Description and Dummy Payslip to successful candidates.
  • Inform unsuccessful candidates once offer has been accepted by successful candidate.
  • Hand over the signed Offer Letter and supporting documents as per the New Employee Checklist, to the HR Administrator for the drafting of Employment Contract.
  • Stay updated on market, recruitment, assessment and remuneration trends, as well as best practices. Look for opportunities to apply best practice solutions within the Company.
  • Seek opportunities to attract Talent.
  • Ensure any conflict of interest (business and relationships) is escalated to the respective Executive and the Head of HR before interviews/appointments are made.
  • Build a talent pool of high caliber CVs/candidates for highest turnover positions.
  • Achieve a 30 day turnaround period, which is from time of receipt of employment request to offer made.
  • Track and compile trends analysis.

Special Projects:

  • Create Interview Guides for all positions within the Company, including competency based and behavioural questions.
  • Train management on effective interviewing techniques and offer refresher training annually. Coach and mentor where needed.
  • Assist the Head of HR in creating an Employee Value Proposition.
  • Assist HR in observing and assessing Performance Appraisals.
  • Any ad hoc projects.

Administration:

  • All recruitment documentation is saved in the relevant staff files by the 8

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Qualification in Human Resources preferable.
  • 5+ Years of solid experience in talent acquisition, end to end. Behavioural competency interviewing techniques.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the Employee Benefits Industry, with good knowledge of the various positions and talent calibre within the industry.

Job Description

Business Development/Marketing

Provide process engineering input to marketing and proposals by providing technical assistance to support Business Development and Marketing strategies. Produce cost effective, conceptual & timeous proposals. Determine customer’s requirements. Communicate with customer and review customer’s enquiry documents and evaluate requirements and constraints. Define the process/plant scope of work. Produce the conceptual design and generate alternatives. Produce and agree mass and energy balances and conceptual PFDs. Contribute to basic design criteria document through preliminary equipment & motor list, preliminary control criteria and major equipment & material specification.

Project Life Cycle

Provide Process engineering input to project implementation and Project set up. Provide input to generate scope of work, schedules and budgets. Refine scope of work, review contract and design discipline design criteria and engineering deliverables. Define battery limits and control and report scope variances. Generate detail discipline schedules and review overall discipline requirements. Contribute to procurement and identify long lead items. Determine/prioritize work breakdown structure. Issue data to planner. Review/co-ordinate & adhere to schedule of implementation. Control and report variances. Generate and develop detail discipline budgets and identify indirect/resource costs. Adhere to budget implementation and control and report budget variances. Consolidate documentation for monthly project progress report. Provide input to monthly discipline reports. Provide feedback to functional manager.

Design

Generate The Following Engineering Deliverables

Detailed mass & energy balance. Detailed PFDs. Detailed equipment/motor list. Equipment specifications. Data Sheets (Develop & Approval). Operation & Control Philosophy. Detailed functional specifications. Write operating manual. Generate detailed plant process guarantees. Check and review design layouts, including vendor packages. Adhere to schedules and budgets. Issue, review and control final process design documentation. Check and obtain approval of calculations and specifications. Consult with specialists for novel or unusual designs.

Client Relations (Internal & External)

Prepare approved vendor list and issue enquiry documents. Perform technical and commercial adjudication. Obtain client approval. Participate in pre-award meetings, review quality plan and contract. Review quality/expediting reports and witness key manufacturing hold points. Provide technical backup for expediting team. Proactively maintain information flow. Attend coordination meetings. Advise changes early. Coordinate deliveries. Adopt flexible approach. Respond to needs of other disciplines. Ensure awareness of Company vision and departmental goals/objectives.

Plant commissioning

Produce and submit commissioning plan/manual. Determine critical path and establish commissioning sequence/schedule. Define and secure resources. Define battery limits of commissioning. Define commissioning systems/procedure. Produce commissioning files, including commissioning documentation. Ensure commissioning meets project requirements. Issue remedial inspection reports during construction. Monitor installation and commissioning checklists. Arrange and co-ordinate commissioning meetings. Conduct on-site commissioning. Provide technical back-up for site QA team. Assist in performance testing in terms of design base. Supervise and train operating personnel. Contribute to close-out report and adhere to close out procedures. Provide post-commissioning process support. Ensure plant optimization and plant operating analysis. Ensure regular visits/communications with client.

Legislation, Policies & Procedures

Lead design reviews and Hazops. Ensure legal compliance with design codes and authorities. Contribute to public participation process as per National Environmental Management Act (NEMA). Enforce process veto rights. Maintain standards. Adhere to and update Company standards. Utilize engineering tools/systems.

Continuous Improvement

Consult with specialists for novel or unusual designs. Review industry standards making use of network periodicals, attending shows and conferences. Identify areas of improvement. Review all previous close-out report. Review systems and procedures. Recommend best practices. Continuous professional development. Identify and address training needs.

Qualifications

  • Chemical Engineering or Extractive Metallurgy or Minerals Processing Degree from a recognized tertiary institution

Skills And Experience

A proven experience of 5 to 25 years’ experience executing projects in the EPC/EPCM environment; ideally within the mining and minerals (preferred) or petrochemical sector.

  • Construction & Commissioning - Understanding of on-site construction work such as commissioning or customers and suppliers’ interactions
  • Risk Analysis - Ability to identify project and activities risk from any point of view including knowledge of hazard and operation HAZOP
  • Value Engineering - Ability to optimize a process by adding value either as saving in cost or simplifying the process
  • Process Flow Diagrams - Ability to produce, understand and deliver Process Flow diagrams
  • Testing - Knowledge of testing techniques and procedures including specifications and interpretations of test works
  • Equipment & Components - Knowledge of process, control, quality, electrical etc. equipment specifications, suppliers and features (including equipment installation and components)
  • Legislation & Standards - Knowledge of sector specific law (e.g. Engineering, safety reqs, Audit regulations, Insurance laws etc.) and knowledge standard specifications (e.g. Plant layout requirements, etc.) including the ability to integrate these standards.
  • Technical Documentation - Ability to create, understand and communicate technical specifications
  • Economical Awareness - Knowledge of economic fundamentals and ability to make estimations and proposing alternatives
  • Process Simulation - Ability to simulate processes by means of software or other methodologies
  • Mass balance - Ability to calculate (using software and spreadsheets) the mass balance of a process

Required Experience and Qualifications
  • 4+ years’ minimum relative experience.
  • N6 / N Dip / B-tech Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronic Engineering / Chemical Engineering or other Relevant Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience in manufacturing process control.
  • Proficiency in problem solving and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Strong technical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Intermediate Computer Skills (MS Office)
  • Experience using CAD Software
