• Relevant tertiary qualification in Sales, Business , or related field.

• Minimum 57 years of B2B sales or Key Account Management experience in commercial vehicles, logistics, or similar industry .

• Strong knowledge of dealer-based networks and South African commercial vehicle market .

• Code 8 drivers licence .

Main Job Functions:

As the Heavy Commercial Vehicles Call Centre Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing the daily operations of a dynamic call centre dedicated to supporting clients and stakeholders in the heavy commercial vehicle sector. Your leadership will ensure the team provides exceptional service, resolves issues efficiently, and maintains high customer satisfaction standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and evaluate the daily HCV call centre operations, liaising with internal stakeholders, service providers, and customers to ensure protocol     adherence.
• Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of call centre agents, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Manage call queues, allocate resources effectively, and address any operational issues.
• Create and implement best practice HCV principles, policies and processes across the organization to improve operational and financial performance.
• Conduct regular training sessions to enhance team skills, knowledge, and performance, focusing on both technical aspects of heavy commercial vehicles and  customer service excellence.
• Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing constructive feedback and implementing improvement plans as necessary.
• Conduct root cause analysis of failures and take corrective action.
• Recommend optimal towing modes 
• Resolve problems concerning tows, recoveries, GIT, Spillages etc. 
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify inefficiencies and cost optimization opportunities.
• Interpret trends and analyse and review data. Provide meaningful HCV data to others in the organization to aid customer service and cost improvements.
• Set departmental objectives/KPIs and review and assess the ongoing performance of direct reports.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with all connected with the HCV process.
• Ensure all completed cases are managed timeously.
• Ensure that the HCV vehicles are towed appropriately to reduce any damage.

• Medical Certificate : A valid medical certificate from a registered practitioner is required to confirm you’re fit to drive heavy vehicles.

• Professional Driving Permit (PDP) : Mandatory for all commercial drivers. You must apply for a PDP at a DLTC and pass a criminal background check

• Candidate with some driving history.

• Working hours can be long and irregular, especially for long-haul routes.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles in a safe and lawful manner.

• Transport goods and materials to designated locations according to delivery schedules.

• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any defects or maintenance needs.

• Ensure all documentation (trip sheets, delivery notes, logbooks, fuel slips) is accurately completed and submitted.

• Adhere to company transport policies and road traffic regulations .

Qualifications and Experience

• Valid Code EC or Code C1/C driver’s license with PrDP (Professional Driving Permit) .

• Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in long-distance or local truck/commercial driving .

• Sound knowledge of South African road routes and transport regulations .

• Experience with heavy-duty trucks, trailers, or commercial delivery vehicles .

• Basic mechanical understanding (advantageous).

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Truck Driver located in the City of Johannesburg. The Truck Driver will be responsible for operating and driving trucks, following DOT regulations, loading and unloading goods, and ensuring timely deliveries. Day-to-day tasks also include conducting vehicle inspections, maintaining logbooks, and communicating with dispatchers and customers.
