What will you do?

To form a component of the GEMS: clinical risk management/ fund management support structure. Conduct research and draft documentation and spearhead internal projects related to the work of the clinical risk or fund management teams. Support the Advanced Specialist: Strategic Sourcing with the development of the strategic sourcing strategy through the identification of cost drivers

drivers including gathering of relevant data from various sources.

Outpatient duties consist of the performance of a comprehensive review of documentation within the health record to accurately assign ICD CM codes for diagnoses, CPT/HCPCS codes for surgeries, procedures and evaluation, and management services. Review and abstract clinical data from the record for documentation of diagnoses and procedures to ensure it is adequate and appropriate to support the assigned codes. Code all complicated and complex disease processes, patient injuries, and all procedures in a wide range of ambulatory settings and specialties. Basic Requirements
:

• United States Citizenship:
  Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
• English Language Proficiency. MRTs (Coder) must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C.
• 7403(f).

• Experience and/or Education

• Experience. One year of creditable experience that indicates knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, medical coding, and the structure and format of a health records; OR,

• Education. An associate's degree from an accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education with a major field of study in health information technology/health information management, or a related degree with a minimum of 12 semester hours in health information technology/health information management (e.g., courses in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, medical coding, and introduction to health records); OR,
• Completion of an AHIMA approved coding program, or other intense coding training program of approximately one year or more that included courses in anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, basic ICD diagnostic/procedural, and basic CPT coding. All persons employed in VHA as a MRT (Coder) on the effective date of this qualification standard are considered to have met all qualification requirements for the title, series, and grade held, including positive education and certification that are part of the basic requirements of the occupation. For employees who do not meet all the basic requirements in this standard, but who met the qualifications applicable to the position at the time they were appointed to it, the following provisions apply:

• Such employees may be reassigned, promoted up to and including the journey level, or changed to lower grade within the occupation, but will not be promoted beyond the journey level or placed in supervisory or managerial positions.
• Such employees in an occupation that requires a certification only at higher grade levels must meet the certification requirement before they can be promoted to the higher-grade levels.
• MRTs who are appointed on a temporary basis, prior to the effective date of the qualification standard, may not have their temporary appointment extended, or be reappointed on a temporary or permanent basis, until they fully meet the basic requirements of the standard.
• MRTs initially grandfathered into this occupation, who subsequently obtain additional education that meets all the basic requirements of this qualification standard, must maintain the required credentials as a condition of employment in the occupation.
• Employees who are retained as a MRT under this provision and subsequently leave the occupation lose protected status and must meet the full VA qualification standard requirements in effect at the time of reentry as a MRT.

• Responsible for the daily routine work in the Molecular, Microbiology ,Chemistry, General Serology & Haematology Laboratory in order to achieve an efficient and cost effective service.
• Record temperature of the room and fridges, with corrective actions when required.
• Maintenance on all equipment used for analysis – ensuring all controls and calibrations are done on all relevant equipment.
• Decontamination of all equipment and bench tops.

Ensure processing of samples received from various sites:

• Reagent preparation when necessary.
• Troubleshooting in order to prevent serious or unacceptable incidents involving specimen samples.
• Report all malfunctions to the laboratory manager.
• Ensure that relevant protocols are followed.
• To participate and assist in laboratory projects.
• Assist in performing tasks in all the laboratory sections.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Medical Field Service Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the functionality and reliability of all Arjo equipment within hospitals and Medical facilities. This role will involve extensive travel in and around the inland region and outline areas, encompassing servicing, fault finding, troubleshooting, and repairs on all Arjo supplied equipment. Efficient turnaround times and the completion of services and repairs are given high priority with a strong emphasis on quality.

Experience, qualifications, and skills required
:

• Minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent.
• 5 or more years of technical experience with an electrical and or mechanical engineering background.
• Relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous.
• Minimum of 2 years field service experience.
• Advanced computer literacy skills in MS Excel and Outlook.
• Valid driver's license (Code 08/EB) and PDP would be an advantage.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in driving a company vehicle
• Ability to work independently.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Ability in translating and reading technical schematics and diagrams

• Must be available to work after hours on an ad hoc basis.

As the Medical Field Service Technician you will be responsible for:

Duties:

• Service & repair systems to full working capacity.
• Assess, repair, service & provide reports over a wide range of equipment
• Perform annual maintenance services on demo equipment
• Complete quality field actions and provide reports
• Maintain and follow warranty processors and procedures for all intended repairs.

• Fill in and complete job cards for any service repairs, warranties or labour related work

• Schedule weekly plans and activities

• Complete paper work submissions and daily activity reports.

• Assist with service related queries at hospitals or customer sites.

• Communicate weekly visits and schedules to Hosp itals
• Maintain & build good customer relationships
• Build relationships with service consultants for support on service activities.
• Plan country trips to outline areas and regions to complete equipment inspections, services & repairs
• Fill out quotations for replacement parts and keep a track record
• Adhere to safety and quality standards on all Arjo products.
• Update & capture assessment and manage service records
• Maintain company vehicle in good condition.
