The Assistant Manager supports the daily operations of the business, ensuring smooth workflow, exceptional customer service, and the achievement of company goals. This role involves supervising staff, maintaining operational standards, and assisting the Manager in planning, decision-making, and performance monitoring.

• Support the Manager in overseeing daily operations and staff performance.
• Supervise and train team members to meet company standards and goals.
• Monitor customer satisfaction and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
• Assist in inventory management, ordering, and cost control.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
• Serve as acting Manager in the absence of the Manager.

Food preparation and serving

• Assist chefs with food preparation, such as chopping, peeling, and measuring ingredients.
• Portion and plate food according to orders and quality standards.
• Serve food and beverages to customers.
• Prepare and set up serving areas, like buffets or counters.
• Deliver food trays to customers or patients in different areas.

Cleaning and maintenance

• Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, dining areas, and workstations.

Qualifications

• Grade 12/ Matric
• Must have 3-5 years experience in similar role

• Analyse recipes to assign prices to menu items, based on food and overhead costs.
• Check the quantity and quality of received products.
• Collaborate with other personnel to plan and develop recipes and menus, taking into account such factors as seasonal availability of ingredients and the likely number of customers.
• Determine how beverages should be presented, and create decorative displays.
• Monitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations.
• May be required to assist with any other duties that may be outside scope of responsibility
• Hands on involvement with the focus of improving the cooking and overall standards of meals served
