The role holder is responsible to manage, direct and control the Bryte Statutory Financial Accounting and Reporting Department in line with the Bryte, shareholder and statutory requirements, and to manage all aspects of investments for the group. Key Task & Accountabilities

Functional Management

  • This role reports into the CFO and its responsibilities span across all legal entities within the Group.
  • Management of the monthly IFRS-based reporting process and preparation of the annual financial statements for all entities; support subsidiary company financial accounting processes.
  • Effectively manage the quarterly shareholder and Board reporting requirements, including input to the President’s report.
  • Responsible for managing and coordinating the external auditing process for annual financial statements and other relevant processes.
  • Manage financial systems, general ledger process and internal controls, to ensure the integrity of the financial reporting system.
  • Ensure timeous and accurate delivery of statutory and regulatory reporting, including solvency reporting on a SAM basis.
  • Perform analytical reviews of IFRS and regulatory results and determine reasons for variances.
  • Ensure a clean audit report in relation to all regulatory and statutory reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance capital management and solvency.
  • Identify contravention of compliance and implement controls to ensure all compliance requirements are continuously met.
  • Ensure best practice solutions for the company are implemented through researching markets and understanding changes in legislation.
  • Network through memberships of various, appropriate associations.
  • Effectively manage investment accounting and reporting activities; ensure that investment transactions are recorded in the accounting system on a timely basis and in line with IFRS and the Group reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and submit investment reports for Board review and shareholder submission.
  • Management of investment processes and operations while maintaining compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Calculation of Tax and management of direct and indirect Tax submissions.
  • Leading teams of people in line with the Bryte guiding principles and culture, whilst coaching and mentoring individuals within a results-oriented environment. Act as an ambassador for the culture and desired behaviours.

Qualifications & Experience

  • CA(SA)
  • 8 or more years’ experience in relevant field

A global tech company is currently seeking a Financial Manager to join their team in Cape Town.
This role is operational and technical, focused on strengthening financial foundations and supporting logistics, procurement, and back-office functions. As Financial Manager, you will oversee end-to-end finance operations and play a key role in building an effective finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily finance operations, including payables, receivables, reconciliations, and inventory.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and bank relationships.
  • Lead month-end close, journal entries, and reporting packs.
  • Support procurement, logistics, and inventory from a finance lens.
  • Ensure compliance with tax, payroll, and audit requirements.
  • Improve systems, controls, and processes as the company grows.
  • Work across multiple countries and currencies, including foreign exchange and consolidations.


Qualifications and Experience:
  • CA (SA) with 2+ years of relevant financial accounting experience.
  • Solid technical understanding of accounting standards and tax compliance.
  • Experience with multi-currency consolidation is beneficial.
  • Able to thrive in fast-paced, high-performance environments with strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.


Salary:
  • R700 000 - R1 100 000 / year CTC depending on the candidate's experience

Job Description

This hands-on role encompasses financial operations, payroll administration, budgeting, and providing strategic financial advice to the Managing Director. The successful candidate must be proactive, capable of working independently, and collaborate effectively with an external accounting firm.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management – Full function

  • Maintain and manage full sets of accounts for all three entities.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting cycles.
  • Prepare and manage cash flow forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses.
  • Coordinate annual financial statements (AFS) preparation and liaise with the external accounting firm.
  • Monitor and enforce internal controls and financial policies to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Manage payment functions to ensure timely and accurate processing of payments.

Strategic Advisory

  • Serve as a trusted financial advisor to the Managing Director.
  • Provide financial insights to support key business decisions, including costing, pricing strategies, and capital investment evaluations.
  • Support the company’s restructuring process as it transitions into a parent company with two subsidiaries.
  • Payroll & HR Accounting
  • Manage monthly/wages payroll processing for all staff (factory and office) in coordination with an external accounting firm.
  • Collaborate with external accounting firm and service providers as required to ensure compliance and efficiency.

Team & Systems Oversight

  • Work closely with the external accounting firm to ensure clean, timely, and accurate financial reporting.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, digitisation, and automation of financial systems.
  • Assist or oversee the implementation of new financial systems or ERP upgrades if necessary.
  • Oversee the main creditor and debtor functions, managing the respective teams to ensure efficient and accurate processing of transactions.
  • Oversee the inventory management system and supervise the team responsible for its accurate processing.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum Education: BCom in Accounting, Management Accounting, or equivalent qualification.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years in a finance or accounting role.
  • Minimum 2 years in a management or supervisory position (especially within the private sector).
  • Experience working with manufacturing clients is essential, particularly for candidates from Big 4 firms.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Proficiency with accounting and inventory management software (e.g., Sage, Xero, Meshed, Dear Systems, or similar).

Key Competencies :

  • Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of manufacturing environments.
  • Practical, hands-on approach suitable for an SME setting.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and high standards of accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Clear and effective communication skills with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Integrity, honesty, and trustworthiness in handling sensitive financial information.

Desirable (Not Required):

  • Experience in restructuring environments or subsidiary consolidation.
  • Familiarity with supply chain management, inventory costing, or product margin analysis.

Essence of the job :

Responsible for the accuracy of management reports budgets and forecasts and financial planning. To support the business units in analyzing and improving financial results.

Qualification :

Relevant Post Graduate Degree in Accounting (NQF level 8).

Accounting qualification advantageous (CA ACCA CIMA or equivalent).

Minimum Requirements :

Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in financial accounting or related roles

Fund sustainability - Income stream from Trust Interest & Investment income.

Develop protocols and controls in conjunction with the Interest Collection Manager.

Monitor payments received from the banks and sign-off on monthly accounting entries prepared by the Interest Collection Manager.

Maintain data sets and conduct trend analyses to inform budgeting and forecasting.

Prepare monthly accounting entries for the various Investment Portfolios.

Reconcile investment portfolio reports to the accounting records monthly.

Perform financial planning and analysis

Provide guidance and facilitate the target setting budget and forecast processes for business units.

Prepare performance reporting for monthly and year-to-date results against budget and forecasts and present to the executive team.

Support finance and general accounting operations and external reporting

Adhere to reporting deadlines including month end; forecasts; budgets; half-year and year-end.

Review / prepare schedule reports for half-year and full-year audits / packs.

Review related month-end calculations as well as entries for accruals and provisions.

Review monthly tax schedules for accuracy and completeness.

Sign-off on month-end processes.

Maintain the G / L chart of accounts and sub-ledgers.
