Job Responsibilities:
  • Supervise production staff under your supervision and ensure that they adhere to production procedures and that production targets are achieved.
  • Record daily production performance schedule and report to the relevant people.
  • Supervise the use of company property and equipment under your control.
  • Ensure that all equipment have logbooks and checklists and that these are completed as per the company standard.
  • Ensure the timely maintenance of company equipment under your control.

SAFCOL invites unemployed youth aged 18 to 35 who wish to pursue a career in Forestry to apply for a 10-month learnership program. Successful applicants will engage in a formal and structured Learnership Program (NQF Level 3), which includes accredited theoretical and practical training.

REQUIREMENTS

LOCATION

Learners will be based at the official SAFCOL training centre (Platorand) in Sabie, Mpumalanga Province. A monthly stipend will be provided for the duration of the learnership.

OUTCOME

Upon successful completion, learners will receive a nationally recognized qualification: National Certificate in Forestry: Harvesting (NQF Level 3). This program will equip them with the knowledge and experience to enhance their employment prospects with forestry companies and contractors, or to establish their own SMME.

LvA operates walk-in centers in Diepsloot since 2014 and expanded to the community of Orange Farm in 2021. Orange Farm, and Hillbrow, communities with high prevalence rates of GBV. Focusing on legal services, psychosocial support, state actor engagement, and community engagement, LvA works to empower communities and engage state actors to ensure victims are treated with dignity and respect.

Role Description

This is a part-time on-site role located in Orange Farm for a Community Field Worker. The Community Field Worker will conduct community outreach, facilitate workshops on GBV and legal rights, and provide support and referrals to individuals impacted by GBV. The role involves working closely with the community to raise awareness and empower individuals regarding their rights and available remedies. Additionally, the worker will collaborate with state actors and other service providers to ensure comprehensive support for GBV victims.

Qualifications

  • Community outreach, facilitation, and public speaking skills
  • Knowledge of GBV, legal rights, and advocacy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Familiarity with the community of Orange Farm and surrounding areas
  • Relevant experience in non-profit or community-based organizations
