Role Context
Full legal and regulatory compliance; aligned with all Regional and Global Policies Initiatives (e.g. Global SOP Score Card KPIs ISO etc) for end-to-end Compliance Quality Process and Efficiency. Focus on achieving KPIs targets as defined by relevant performance score cards and agreed budget targets set for the country ito cost management profitability and productivity targets; aligned to Regional & Global objectives strategies and plans. Coordinating ground operations activities across all functions and networks to ensure optimal performance and premium service quality experience to our customers. Invest in creating a sustainable future whilst minimizing risk and maximizing profitability and ROI.
Key responsibilities
Contribute to the overall strategic direction and management of the country plus the sub-regional ground operations strategy (short and long term) and policies within overall regional DHL context in terms of end-to-end profitability service quality compliance process and productivity.
Manages the profitability growth and investment of the organizations ground operations within country.
Establishes the required ground operations standards and procedures to provide cost-effective superior customer service.
Liaise with relevant departments to bring ground operations expertise to the customer relationship and ensure cost effective premium service offering.
Directs the ground operations budgets within principles set by division / region and proposals for the required investments in infrastructure technology equipment systems networks or any other resources needed in country.
Drive continuous improvement of ground operations processes people systems to enhance capabilities through standardizing operational practices adopting relevant BDPs and optimizing work methods to maximize productivity improvement.
Specifies ground operations service and quality targets within divisional / regional guidelines and ensures the desired results are achieved for the country.
Coordinate support needed from support services including Health & Safety Security and Facilities.
Empower direct reports to make decisions relevant to their role and function.

Approves key personnel decisions for ground operations including team structure role profiles performance targets in co-operation with division leadership.
Develop performance contracts performance targets and KPI for direct staff. Evaluates performance and proposes performance-based compensation for direct staff.
Build departmental capacity and capability to enable achievement of commercial objectives.
Align people competencies to meet the business objectives and manage staff competency levels and performance according to service requirements and business needs.
Develop yearly Ground Operations budget (opex and capex)
Manage Ground Operations budget on a monthly basis to ensure the desired results are achieved.
Coordinates support from relevant stakeholders for GROUND OPS investments. BCA (Business Case Applications) Management and ROI reviews.
Prepares necessary frequent reports for VP OPS SSA Area office and SMT.
Manage trends identified by reviewing customer inquiries service requests and complaints and take the necessary corrective action for sustainable performance.
To manage Ground Operations KPIs standards and reporting Balance operational metrics against operations metrics and translate trends into easy-to-understand reports or presentations for SMT and SSA Area office.
Minimum Requirements
Education & experience
Business Related Qualification
Post-graduate qualification in Business Management (advantage)
Significant years operations experience preferably within transportation or logistics industry minimum 5 years at management level.
Proficiency in all MS Suite Tools : Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook etc.
Solid Communication skills in English spoken and written.
Proven record of accomplishment of managing a large operation with direct reports.
Ability to plan organize control & manage risks.
Strong leadership skills.
Ability to work well under pressure.

Job Description
- Ensure safety regulations is adhered at all times regarding Dangerous Goods;
- Ensure general safety and security around the aircraft;
- Liaise between crew and ground handler to obtain boarding clearance for passengers;
- Monitor the loading and offloading of baggage and cargo;
- Advise ground handling partner of any load changes;
- Ensure effective turnarounds/reducing delays by ensuring that all handling agents and service providers are in place tor arrivals;
- Conduct ramp safety audits when required;
- Ensure ramp vehicles are clean and fueled;
- Pick up and drop off crew as and when required;
- Monitor flight operations to ensure on-time-performance is met;
- Allocate delays as and when required;
- Assist with crew requests, such as coordinating clean-up services, providing water, and managing restroom facilities;
- Ensure all service providers are present as required per flight I.e. ACSA, fuel handler, etc.;
- Conduct Ad hoc inspections in the baggage department;
- Must perform any duty allocated/delegated by the senior on duty;
- Arrange support for heavy or oversized equipment/cargo, such as motorized wheelchairs;
- Ensure sufficient staff as per SLA;
- Conduct FOD (Foreign object debris) checks. Report any irregular activities related to Flight Operations;
- Coordinate any disrupt operations;
- Monitor Ramp and Passenger service KPl's (boarding gate closure time, equipment positioning etc.);
- Complete ramp agent form for every flight;
- Compile reports for irregular/incidents if required;
- Liaise across different departments and stations; - Coordinate with the relevant stakeholders to ensure on time departure.
- Grade 12 or equivalent;
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in an Airline/Aviation environment (Passenger Services and/or Ramp Services and/or Baggage Handling);
- Code 08 Drivers License (Essential);
- No criminal record;
- Airside knowledge, have knowledge of airport operations;
- Planning, organizational and time management skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written);
- Problem solving capability;
- Decision making skills;
- Ability to multi-task and delegate;

Job DescriptionFlight Data Controller
An exciting vacancy exists at Kimberley Airport for an experienced Flight Data Controller within the Operations Management Division.
Key Performance Outputs
- Accurately capture air traffic movement data including aircraft landing, take-off, and parking times.
- Monitor all radio frequencies and escalate non-compliance issues.
- Source estimated time of arrival/departure of various aircraft operators.
- Update flight information display system (FIDS) data to provide passengers and airport users with up-to-date flight information.
- Capture all movements in the Airport Management System.
- Ensure airline schedules align with seasonal slots.
- Generate and distribute resource plans (parking bay list) for stakeholders.
- Notify Airport Operations of bay changes when required.
- Manage flight allocation schedules and non-scheduled operations.
- Liaise with Air Traffic and Navigation Service (ANS) to manage calculated take-off time (CTOT).
- Manage aircraft changes and take remedial actions as needed.
- Handle financial transactions and cash receipts.
- Adhere to statutory regulations, organisational standards, policies, and procedures; report non-compliance and implement corrective actions.
- Analyze stakeholder needs and identify improvement initiatives.
- Build, support, and maintain healthy, diverse internal and external relationships to achieve organisational goals; implement remedial actions where necessary.
- Manage principles to ensure fair utilization between airlines.
Technical Skills and Experience
- Higher Certificate in Logistics, Commercial, or Operations (Essential)
- 1-2 years of aeronautical documentation operational experience (Essential)
- 1 year of stakeholder engagement operational experience (Essential)
- Technical, specialist, or analytical skills acquired through tertiary education or equivalent experience
