environment.
Government Relations & Policy Advocacy
- Cultivate and maintain trusted relationships with government officials, regulatory bodies, and municipalities.
- Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments impacting our operations.
- Develop and execute advocacy strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Represent the company in governmental discussions, public hearings, and industry forums.
- Prepare policy position papers and regulatory submissions.
Stakeholder Engagement & Business Enablement
- Act as the primary liaison with local municipalities to align governmental objectives with operational needs.
- Mobilize stakeholders to support brewery expansion, licensing, and infrastructure stability.
- Implement engagement strategies to mitigate risks and resolve community issues.
- Lead cross-functional forums to anticipate and address potential operational challenges.
Public Affairs & External Communication
- Collaborate with Communications teams to enhance the company's public image, focusing on regulatory policy, sustainability, and social contributions.
- Serve as a spokesperson in external engagements, including government and industry events.
- Manage high-risk issues and develop communication strategies to protect the company's reputation.
Regulatory Affairs & Compliance
- Provide guidance on regulatory obligations at all governmental levels.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation affecting business operations.
- Identify regulatory risks and coordinate with legal teams to address potential issues.
- Engage with industry associations to develop unified regulatory responses.
Strategic Planning & Leadership
- Develop and implement government affairs and stakeholder relations strategies within the broader business plan.
- Advise leadership on political risks and stakeholder trends.
- Monitor external factors affecting business performance and develop mitigation strategies.
- Establish KPIs to measure the effectiveness of engagement efforts.
- Build and lead a high-performing team, contributing to talent development within Corporate Affairs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in government affairs, public policy, stakeholder relations, or regulatory strategy, preferably within a regulated or FMCG environment.
- Proven track record in influencing governmental and regulatory decisions.
- Extensive experience in engaging with local municipalities to facilitate business continuity.
- Demonstrated leadership in crisis management and reputation protection.

Ensure optimal operational and strategic alignment with manufacturing sites

Achievement of Sales / Growth vs Budget
Gross margin and operating income
Control of expenses within Budget
Forecasting, close co-operation and communication with Supply Chain

- 10+ years of relevant experience as a practicing legal counsel.

The New Zealand High Commission in Pretoria is seeking a full-time Policy and Public Affairs Adviser. The role focuses on:
- Political, economic, and regulatory analysis
- Promoting New Zealand trade
- Supporting engagement by visiting New Zealand officials and businesses in South Africa and other accredited countries
- Managing the High Commission’s social media
Key responsibilities include conducting research, building networks across government, private sector, academia, and civil society, drafting policy reports, organizing visits and events, attending meetings, creating social media content, and drafting official correspondence. The role may involve domestic and international travel.
