An exciting opportunity has become available for a skilled and driven Quality Management Specialist to support a major client in the energy sector. This role offers the chance to work on large-scale projects where your expertise will make a significant impact across welding fabrication and compliance processes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for verification and validation across multiple quality disciplines, including auditing contractor quality systems, ensuring fabrication standards, reviewing technical documentation, and leading quality-focused audits. This role requires a proactive and assertive professional who thrives in high-pressure shutdown or project environments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Verifying contractor QMS, QC trackers, and quality control documentation
  • Conducting vendor validation audits and site surveillance
  • Reviewing welding procedures, NDE reports, PMI requirements, and coating/insulation specs
  • Managing QC data books and sign-off on QC packs
  • Auditing and ensuring adherence to ASME, ISO, API, PER, and SANS standards
  • Tracking and closing out exception items, punch lists, and audit findings

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • 10 years of experience in petrochemical welding and fabrication
  • Strong knowledge of AE standards and procedures
  • ISO Auditor certification
  • Quality Project Management experience
  • Proven ability to lead quality matters with confidence and maturity
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and industry-specific applications
  • Understanding of P&ID, Isometric drawings, and refinery processes

More about the Area & Team: Purpose and Strategic Role – Global Markets Data Management and Governance is responsible for ensuring that data is accurate, trusted, and well-governed across all domains. It provides oversight, defines standards, and drives initiatives that support regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, strategic decision-making, and enhanced revenue generation through data. More about the project: The Data Quality Analyst will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data within the company’s Global Markets systems.This role involves developing and implementing data quality processes, establishing data quality metrics, and ensuring compliance with data governance frameworks. The ideal candidate will have experience in data analysis, data governance, and a strong understanding of financial markets and regulatory requirements.The candidate must have experience in Financial Markets (trading) as well as strong data analysis and process engineering skills and functional knowledge for Global Markets Job Description / Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities: – Develop, document and implement data quality processes to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data within Global Markets– Establish data quality metrics and monitoring mechanisms to continuously assess and improve data quality, including relevant technical dashboards and processes– Establish and implement data process workflows to ensure that data quality is infused as part of any business process– Implement data governance frameworks, including data attestation and data lineage, to ensure the integrity, security, and usability of data– Support the Global Markets data portfolio to ensure alignment with the company’s data strategy, business objectives, and enterprise data governance– Ensure compliance with data legislations and regulations applicable to South Africa and other African and international countries where Global Markets operates– Conduct thorough research on regulatory requirements and stay updated with changes in regulations– Collaborate with various departments, including data producers, trading, risk management, and IT, to ensure data quality and governance– Build data quality dashboards for anomalies with alerts to source owners for resolution– Oversee and contribute to data remediation initiatives across Global Markets Background and experience required: Qualifications and Experience: – Relevant qualification in a related field, e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Management– Minimum 5 years of experience in Investment Banking / Capital Markets IT and Data domain5-10 years of experience in a business and data analysis role working in a Global Markets environment– Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills– Good working experience with Cloud technologies, especially AWS– Strong written and verbal communication skills– Ability to work collaboratively with various departments Must-have Skills (Mandatory Skills): – Good understanding of asset classes such as Equity, Fixed Income, Credit, FX, commodities, Interest Rates, Collateral, and their product lifecycle– Working experience on FMA, EMIR, Dodd-Frank, CFTC, and other relevant Markets Regulatory Reporting requirements– Excellent experience with data governance best practices and tools including creating data quality dashboards– Familiarity with Front Arena application as a primary system Beneficial Skills (Desired Skills): Preferred Skills: – Strong business, process and data analysis as well as project management skills to oversee data quality projects from inception to completion– Excellent stakeholder engagement skills to effectively communicate with various departments and external regulatory bodies– High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data submissions– Ability to interpret and apply regulatory policies and guidelines to business processes– Excellent stakeholder engagement skills to effectively communicate with various departments and external regulatory bodies– High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in regulatory reports and data submissions Pre-screening questions (1 Minimum): 1.
