An exciting opportunity has become available for a skilled and driven Quality Management Specialist to support a major client in the energy sector. This role offers the chance to work on large-scale projects where your expertise will make a significant impact across welding fabrication and compliance processes.
The successful candidate will be responsible for verification and validation across multiple quality disciplines, including auditing contractor quality systems, ensuring fabrication standards, reviewing technical documentation, and leading quality-focused audits. This role requires a proactive and assertive professional who thrives in high-pressure shutdown or project environments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Verifying contractor QMS, QC trackers, and quality control documentation
- Conducting vendor validation audits and site surveillance
- Reviewing welding procedures, NDE reports, PMI requirements, and coating/insulation specs
- Managing QC data books and sign-off on QC packs
- Auditing and ensuring adherence to ASME, ISO, API, PER, and SANS standards
- Tracking and closing out exception items, punch lists, and audit findings
The ideal candidate will bring:
- 10 years of experience in petrochemical welding and fabrication
- Strong knowledge of AE standards and procedures
- ISO Auditor certification
- Quality Project Management experience
- Proven ability to lead quality matters with confidence and maturity
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and industry-specific applications
- Understanding of P&ID, Isometric drawings, and refinery processes

PURPOSE OF ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quality Management Advisor to provide strategic support to the Head of Quality, focusing on quality management, quality assurance initiatives, and continuous improvement across all Lesedi operations. This role requires a professional with strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to advise and guide management in areas of continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining Quality Management/Quality Assurance IMS Governance documentation, ensuring compliance portfolios, and providing oversight and control in Quality Management across Lesedi. This position plays a pivotal role in establishing internal audit programs, managing non-conformance reports, and developing comprehensive training programs for personnel.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Compliance Portfolio Management
- Develop and maintain QM/QA IMS Governance documentation including templates
- Manage and implement internal audit schedules for nuclear and non-nuclear processes
- Oversee internal audit findings management with comprehensive follow-up
- Prepare and ensure readiness for certification surveillances and audits
- Provide necessary support to maintain Lesedi's compliance portfolio
Internal Quality Management System Oversight
- Establish and implement comprehensive internal audit programs for nuclear and non-nuclear processes
- Provide oversight and control in Quality Management and Quality Assurance across Lesedi
- Maintain Quality Functions' electronic databases
- Management of internal and external parties' Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs)
Supplier and Contractor Oversight
- Manage and implement Supplier Monitoring programs including updates
- Implement and manage established project surveillance programs
- Ensure quality standards compliance across all supplier and contractor activities
Customer Satisfaction and Continuous Improvement
- Analyze external customer satisfaction feedback data
- Provide improvement recommendations based on customer satisfaction analysis
- Update IMS processes to align with industry norms and standards
- Compile overview and trend reporting for multiple data areas including:
- Self-Assessment data analysis
- Lessons Learned data compilation
- Continuous Improvement data tracking
- Customer feedback data analysis
- Nonconformity data trending
Staff Development and Training
- Develop and implement IMS induction and indoctrination training for Lesedi personnel
- Create comprehensive Lesedi IMS training materials
- Implement ongoing IMS staff training programs
- Continuously improve and update IMS training materials aligned with industry best practices
QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced Diploma/Degree or equivalent in quality engineering, quality management, or quality assurance (essential)
- Professional registration with SAATCA or equivalent (essential)
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 7 years experience in EPC technical environment, quality management, or quality assurance (essential)
- Proven track record of training and implementing company strategies successfully
- Demonstrated experience in system and/or process auditing
- Experience in developing comprehensive audit programs
- Experience in developing quality key performance indicators
- Experience in producing quality trend reports for management
- Experience in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies (advantageous)
- Multi-disciplinary engineering, procurement, and construction industry experience
- Nuclear industry experience with applicable standards, codes, regulations, and practices (advantageous)

– Develop, document and implement data quality processes to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data within Global Markets
– Establish data quality metrics and monitoring mechanisms to continuously assess and improve data quality, including relevant technical dashboards and processes
– Establish and implement data process workflows to ensure that data quality is infused as part of any business process
