SA Metal Group conducts expertise waste management services for a large manufacturing entity in the region. This role is primarily aimed at facilitating this function within the entity by, but not limited to;

• Dispatching and managing trucks and drivers
• Maintaining good customer relations with local partners and suppliers of scrap metal
• Ensuring all trucks are filled with diesel – communicate with all drivers on diesel statuses
• Coordinating truck maintenance when needed
• Booking employee medicals and inductions
• Verifying bin locations
• Ensuring compliance with section 8.2 of the Health and Safety Act and client’s regulations
• Incident reporting
• Conducting toolbox talks with subordinates
• Supervising all loads
• Attending toolbox talks with the client
• Participating in daily safety meetings with the client
• Attending ROAS meetings with the client

QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE :

• Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
• At least 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a production industry
• Computer literate - proficient in the full Microsoft suite
• Good knowledge of H&S regulations
• Logistics experience is an advantage
• Scrap metal experience is an advantage
