The systems engineer will provide specialist high-level technical advice, high-level problem resolution of complex problems, system security and policy implementation monitoring.

You Will Be Responsible For

• Drive business profitability in the context of cost management through Information technology solutions Increase operational efficiency and suggest solutions to enhance cost effectiveness
• Deliver exceptional service that exceeds customers’ expectations through proactive, innovative, and appropriate solutions by resolving queries fast end effective
• Cultivate and manage objective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including end-users, SME’s, project managers and senior staff members by providing input to business requirements
• Provide second level standby and complex problem resolution by interfacing with vendor support to resolve complex application and system configurations
• Provide specialist high-level technical advice for high-level problem resolution of complex problems by monitoring system security policy implementation.
• Monitor changes in legislation, regulations, initiatives, and relevant industry practices.
• Ensure drafting and implementation of appropriate interventions.
• Ensure compliance with audit requirements
• Assess, identify, and mitigate potential risks within the IT system engineering environment and comply with governance in terms of legislative, audit and business policy requirements by drafting policies and procedures for the System Engineering Environment
• Manage systems by setting threshold measurements for capacity and infrastructure upgrades and suggest changes
• Manage the System Efficiencies by suggesting and implementing efficient system changes based on research of new and existing technology to align with business needs
• Set timeline and methodology for system, release upgrades and build test packs for regression testing.
• Access and implement patches and Fixes in test environment and migrate to live
• Manage own development to increase own competencies
• Obtain and sustain In-depth system / application knowledge to maximise contribution to the role

A company specializing in the delivery of complete and comprehensive certification-ready Automation, Simulation, Communication, and Ground Control Solutions seeks a system engineer with a passion for airborne system-level (e.g. ISR aircraft, UAS and OPS) design and problem-solving. Successful candidates will form part of the companys dynamic System Engineering team.

1. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Employee will work as a System Engineer, in the field of Autonomous Systems.

The scope of work includes (but is not limited to) the following:

a. Assist with the development of system-level plans, processes, procedures, and internal standards towards compliance with aerospace and safety standards and guidelines;

b. Liaise with client and translate client requirements into system/subsystem-level requirements that can feed hardware and software requirements;

c. Perform requirements validation through bidirectional traceability and review of requirements for compliance with standards;

d. Develop system architectures and comprehensive system designs to fulfill the system/subsystem-level requirements. This may include supporting analyses such as reliability analyses towards proving system safety;

e. Develop system-level verification plans, test cases, and procedures toward full test coverage of system/subsystem-level requirements;

f. Assist with the execution, analysis, review and quality control of system-level test cases and procedures. Develop tools in support of the system engineering processes, towards automation of activities such as verification and validation, continuous integration etc.

g. Guide the documentation of system designs, including interface documents, operator manuals, maintenance manuals, training material etc.

h. Plan, assist and support the integration, testing, review and sign-off of system designs with the client. This will often require on-site support and typically span integration, ground testing, and flight testing;

i. Manage or assist with the management of various internal or external system-level projects, towards ensuring processes are followed and timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met. Client communication, including communicating complex technical data and information in a clear and accessible manner, fostering strong client relationships; and

j. Provide client support and training, ensuring clients are well-equipped to maximize the benefits the company systems.

2. REQUIREMENTS

2.1. Minimum Qualifications

a. Bachelor's Degree in Electronic, Mechatronic, or Mechanical (BSc Eng/BEng or equivalent).

2.2. Required Skills and Experience

a. 2-5 years of relevant industry or postgraduate experience

b. Excellent problem-solving skills;

c. Excellent interpersonal skills, both inside and outside the organization; and

d.Logical thinker.

2.3. Recommended Skills and Experience

a. Masters Degree in Mechatronic / Mechanical or Electronic Engineering (MSc Eng. / MEng).

Samenwerken met interne teams en externe dienstverleners om technische oplossingen af te stemmen op zakelijke behoeften.

Aansturen van IT-projecten van concept tot realisatie, inclusief planning, uitvoering en nazorg.

Grondige kennis van VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi (HA-opstellingen).

Ervaring met Veeam Backup & Replication.

Beheersing van Dell PowerScale (Isilon) en SAN-opslagsystemen.

Vaardigheid in zowel Windows Server- als Linux-administratie.

Sterke netwerkvaardigheden (routing, switching, VLANs, CCNA-niveau).

Kennis van Azure IaaS (VM’s, opslag, netwerken).

Ervaring met monitoring, alerting en configuratiemanagementtools.

Certificeringen zoals VCP, VMCE, LPIC of CCNA zijn een pluspunt.
