- Manage and coordinate daily lodge operations across Rooms Division, Food & Beverage, Maintenance, Guest Services, and Administration
- Maintain seamless service delivery while anticipating guest and operational needs
- Ensure high standards of hygiene, presentation, and safety across all areas
- Inspire and guide multidisciplinary teams through active, hands-on management
- Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and excellence at all levels
- Lead by example with mentorship, coaching, and succession planning
- Manage lodge budgets and cost controls; deliver strong financial performance
- Compile and analyse reports on revenue, occupancy, procurement, and expenses
- Lead and support union negotiations and payroll planning
- Uphold the lodges reputation for luxury, service, and bespoke experiences
- Ensure consistent 5-star service from pre-arrival to departure
- Handle guest relations, complaints, and VIP hosting with professionalism and care
- Collaborate with Operations Management to align with group strategy
- Drive initiatives that promote sustainability, efficiency, and quality
- Contribute to innovation in lodge offerings, experiences, and service culture
- Matric essential; formal hospitality qualification preferred
- 5+ years experience as General Manager in a luxury lodge environment
- Deep understanding of remote lodge operations and guest expectations
- Valid RSA ID, Drivers Licence, and own vehicle
- High-level leadership, financial acumen, and operational decision-making
- Tech-savvy: Excel, Word, PowerPoint; OPERA Cloud experience advantageous
- Strong communication, conflict resolution, and organisational skills
- Adaptability, cultural awareness, and resilience in high-pressure environments
- Live and work in an iconic Big 5 reserve
- Play a pivotal role in shaping guest journeys and lodge culture

Our client, a premium game lodge, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to manage a comprehensive range of financial functions within the organization. This role includes overseeing the full bookkeeping process, preparing financial reports, and handling payroll operations. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with COIDA regulations and insurance policies, including annual reviews and renewals. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills and a thorough understanding of accounting principles to ensure the financial health and compliance of the lodge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and oversee the activities of the bookkeeper/s.
- Oversee Daily Report: Balances, Incoming Payments, Transactional Activities and bank statements for on-site allocations.
- Up to Trial Balance: posting of debit orders, creditors, bank reconciliations, etc.
- Preparation of AFS and Audit Files for Annual Review.
- Preparation of monthly Management Accounts.
- Reconciliation of Loan Accounts.
- Submission of Monthly Reports to Directors / Shareholders.
- Preparation of monthly VAT submissions.
- VAT verifications from SARS, when required.
- Creditor reconciliations - between Head Office, On-site and Creditor.
- Management of Asset register.
- Debtor reconciliations with on-site staff, when required.
- Stock management assistance with on-site staff, when required.
- BBEEE oversee the preparation and submissions of necessary date and documentation.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting.
- 3 - 5 years' experience in hospitality.
- Proficiency in accounting software: Pastel, Xero & Sage.
- Registered with SAICA.
- Proficient with MS Office.
- Must have own transport.
- Bilingual (English / Afrikaans).
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Stay up to date on accounting regulations and best practices.
- Participating in professional development activities.
