  • The individual will be part of Forensic Advisory Services of KPMG in South Africa and will be responsible for managing specific roles and responsibilities Digital Forensic and Incident Response (DFIR) and Cyber Investigations

  • Lead cyber investigations and DFIR engagements as per the applicable methodologies

Skills

  • Knowledge of networks, operating systems (Linux and/or MacOS), databases, static and dynamic malware analysis/reverse engineering; digital forensics and cloud analytics

Main purpose of the role Support internal investigation teams and clients with digital forensics investigations; Assist with ensuring that the procedures set out are adhered to on engagements; Follow guidance from managers on engagements; Become familiar with digital forensics engagements and be able to execute steps under the guidance of seniors. Key Performance Areas Have a strong technical background; Develop and upskill on digital forensics techniques; Drafting proposals/quotations; Become familiar with risk management processes; Assist with drafting internal and external reports; and Provide support to seniors and managers on engagements. Qualifications B. Tech, Bs C Computer Science, Bcom IT or other relevant qualifications. Industry recognised certifications (En CE, SANS etc) would be advantageous. Experience 0 to 3 years experience; Technical experience would be advantageous; Cybersecurity experience would be an advantage; and Consulting experience would be advantageous. Key Competencies The ability to draw insights from diverse data sets to aid investigations; Strong networking and general technical IT understanding; Basic scripting; Understanding chain of evidence and investigation processes Pro-active and committed to delivery Leadership skills Ability to perform under pressure Planning and organising ability Conflict management Analytical and solutions driven Flexible and adaptable to change Report writing Drivers Licence Essential (Non-negotiable) . Own transport is required. Overtime In some instances, overtime will be required to meet project deliverables. Travel Extensive travel required in the Gauteng region and nationally. Occasional travel internationally. Further, given the nature of the role travel could be at short notice. Language The incumbent must be fluent in English.
