A leading tourism company in the heart of Franschhoek is seeking a confident, organised, and service-driven Floor Manager to oversee day-to-day operations at an off-site location. This role requires an individual who thrives in a dynamic hospitality environment, can take initiative, and ensures smooth guest experiences from start to finish.
The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, team motivator, and quick problem solver who can confidently manage both guest-facing service and on-the-ground operational logistics.
Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Experience & Service Oversight
- Welcome and engage with guests in a professional, approachable manner.
- Maintain a visible presence on the floor to ensure smooth service flow and high guest satisfaction.
- Handle guest feedback or challenges with empathy, diplomacy, and discretion.
- Support and guide staff to uphold brand service standards at all times.
- Anticipate guest needs and create a welcoming, well-managed environment.
Operational Management & Coordination
- Oversee all daily operations and logistics at the off-site venue, ensuring efficiency and safety.
- Supervise staff attendance, performance, and service delivery throughout the day.
- Liaise with the central control room, transport, and partner estates to coordinate timing and service flow.
- Monitor equipment, vehicle readiness, and site presentation, addressing any operational issues promptly.
- Ensure all safety, hygiene, and service protocols are consistently followed.
Communication & Reporting
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the site team and head office operations.
- Provide clear feedback, incident reports, and shift summaries to management.
- Identify areas for improvement and suggest practical solutions for smoother service delivery.
Requirements
- Based in Franschhoek, Paarl, or Stellenbosch area (or able to commute reliably).
- Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport.
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans (other languages advantageous).
- Matric certificate required; tertiary hospitality or tourism qualification beneficial.
- Previous experience in floor management, hospitality operations, or tourism supervision.
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Physically fit, professional in appearance, and comfortable working in a fast-paced setting.
- Flexible to work weekends, public holidays, and extended hours when required.
