Treverton is an independent evangelical Christian school, situated on a unique 270-hectare campus in the heart of the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. Treverton caters for boys and girls from Grades 000 to 12 and strives to provide a balanced, quality education based on a strong Christian foundation.
The requirements for this position are:
- The candidate shall be a Christian and an active member of his/her local church.
- Proof of registration with SACE.
- A suitable teaching qualification with the ability to teach Business Studies up to Grade 12 level.
- Experience in the independent school sector and IEB teaching experience will be a distinct advantage.
- A willingness to participate in the broader life of the school is a pre-requisite. The ability to coach sport and be actively involved in outdoor adventure activities will be a distinct advantage.
Accommodation on campus can be negotiated as part of the package.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate for Senior Lecturer in the Department of Political Studies will be responsible for the following key performance areas:
- Facilitate learning, especially through lecturing, at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Political Studies, particularly International Relations, Comparative Politics or Research Methodology
- Conduct research and publish in Political Studies
- Undertake undergraduate and postgraduate supervision
- Provide academic leadership and administration
- Undertake curriculum development and assessment
- Participate in community engagement and outreach
- Contribute to a stimulating and collegial departmental culture of engaged scholarship
- Doctoral qualification in the field of Political Studies
- Demonstrated experience in lecturing Political Studies, preferably in the field of International Relations, Comparative Politics or Research Methodology
- A record of publications (including articles in peer-reviewed academic journals), preferably in the field of International Relations or Comparative Politics
- A record of successful supervision at Honours and Masters level
- Demonstrated competence in community engagement
- Supervision experience at Doctoral level
- Demonstrated experience in academic leadership and administration
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Presentation and facilitation skills
- Adaptability and the ability to operate in a diverse environment
