Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Capturing the capitalisation of newly acquired assets
  2. Capturing the disposals of assets and raising corresponding sales invoice for the disposal
  3. Calculate and run depreciation for all fixed assets
  4. Conducting fixed asset verifications and stock counts
  5. Capturing and keeping track of all IT stock issued out
  6. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies between actual and theoretical IT stock
  7. Lease recognition at inception of the lease
  8. Capturing of monthly transactions on leases
  9. Perform reconciliations for the leases
  10. Assist with annual financial statements audits (relating to fixed assets)
  11. Able to work under tight deadlines for management accounts/reporting

Finance
  • Responsible for all aspects of accounting operations, including billing, A/R, A/P, GL, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition.
  • Manage banking, cashbook processing, and petty cash reconciliations.
  • Lead budget and financial forecasts: prepare budgets and forecasts, report on variances.
  • Publish monthly management accounts.
  • Support auditors in the timely preparation and delivery of annual financial statements.
  • Handle statutory and regulatory reporting, coordinating all business requirements.
  • Oversee quality control over transactions and reporting, ensuring integrity of financial data.
  • Manage tax filings and ensure compliance with VAT, income tax, and other tax obligations.
  • Assign, monitor, and coordinate financial tasks, planning and organizing work.

  • Reconcile sales and accounting systems, process journal entries.
  • Support business leaders and handle ad hoc challenges.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller, with broad business insights.
  • Thorough understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Experience in preparing financial statements and general ledger functions.
  • Accounting or finance qualification.
  • Proficiency in accounting software; experience with Pastel/Sage preferred.
Knowledge
  • Strong knowledge of accounting processes and principles.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel; good knowledge of Word.
