Overview
Your Team Responsibilities
As an Analyst within MSCI’s Private Capital Solutions Transactions Team, you will play a critical role in transforming raw private capital data into valuable, high-quality analytics used by institutional asset owners and managers. This includes the identification, extraction, reconciliation, and validation of client-level and fund-level transactions, valuations, and performance metrics with direct linkage to indexing and portfolio analytics. You will support core deliverables while developing technical expertise, growing client acumen, and contributing to scalable data operations.
Your Key Responsibilities- Review and analyze private capital fund documentation (e.g. capital account statements, notices, and reports) to accurately capture cash flows, valuations, and performance metrics data.
- Apply an understanding of complex fund structures and methodologies used in private capital reporting.
- Maintain and update client-specific datasets to ensure accurate investment book of records.
- Support monthly and quarterly reconciliation processes with internal quality control checkpoints.
- Work directly with Client Services to resolve discrepancies and answer client inquiries regarding transaction or valuation data.
- Work collaboratively across PCS teams to resolve operational challenges, participate in peer reviews, and uphold quality standards.
- Provide suggestions for workflow enhancements and automation to improve process efficiency.
- Participate in special projects including new client transitions, platform migrations, or service development pilots.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Investments, Accounting, Economics, or related disciplines
- Familiarity with private capital investment structures and fund-level data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with databases such as Python or SQL are a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work with numerical data and documentation with strong attention to detail.

- Acquire a thorough understanding of the TPM platform with a focus on Liquid Market and Private Capital transparency data, as well as the rest of the PCS product suite, and how our products fit into client’s organizations and their processes.
- Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge of the asset management industry, as well as a deep understanding of the TPM platform to be able to deliver creative solutions to our clients. Provide best practices and work with clients to develop their system use strategy

- Develop various documents, materials, and reporting templates to facilitate the successful execution of each client’s data utilizing best practices, techniques, and standards
- Support the smooth execution of clients’ transparency data requirements, including managing custom data needs.
- Focus on bringing all necessary stakeholders across departments to address gaps and pain-points in data fulfillment and provide ongoing maintenance and support via client service or clients directly as necessary
- Proactively examine all data, processes, and technologies to evaluate the current state and critical problems for clients.
- Bachelor’s degree (Finance, Economics, or similar field a plus, but not required).
- 2-4 years of finance, accounting, or investment experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Portfolio analysis, performance measurement, or domain expertise in investment analytics a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel a plus.
- Progress towards CFA, CAIA, CIPM, or FRM is a plus.
