Job DescriptionThe Financial Controls and Reconciliation Analyst is responsible for managing and reviewing general financial reconciliations for the South African entities. The role involves owning the reconciliation process for merchant balances, related third-party fees, and managing internally generated intangible assets.
Responsibilities- Balance sheet reconciliations (NIPS and Payfast): Manage and improve the reconciliation process, ensure timely and accurate reconciliations, assist Finance Managers.
- Net merchant asset reconciliations (Payfast): Maintain reconciliation workbooks, perform regular reconciliations of merchant liabilities and receivables.
- Interchange, referral partner, and scheme fee reconciliations (Payfast): Develop tools for monitoring third-party fees, perform reconciliations.
- Intangible asset management (NIPS and Payfast): Liaise with development teams for accurate accounting, ensure IFRS compliance, assist in capitalisation process.
- Technical accounting: Provide guidance to the finance team.
- Punctuality and attendance: Maintain good punctuality and attendance.
- Additional responsibilities as required due to business needs.
- BCom or similar; Newly qualified CA (SA) preferred.
- 5+ years reconciliation experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience with Oracle NetSuite and Oracle Fusion ERP systems is advantageous.
