This role is responsible for finance record-keeping and reporting on the performance and financial position of 3Sixty Life Limited.
The Finance Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the overall financial function of the organization. This role is responsible for executing a broad range of accounting and financial functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and assisting with compliance with relevant regulations and standards. The Finance Specialist provides key support to the Finance Manager in the preparation of month-end reporting, financial statements, budgeting, reconciliations, and audit readiness. The role also serves as a key liaison between the finance department and internal teams, external auditors, and other stakeholders, ensuring that financial information is timely, accurate, and well-communicated.
Requirements for the Role
- Bachelor of Commerce in Finance/Accounting.
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements within the insurance sector desirable.
- 3 years' experience in a finance or accounting management role in the financial services sector.
- Demonstrates high levels of honesty and integrity.
- Demonstrates a strong ethical orientation and understanding of the application of ethical business practices.
- Experience with financial audits and liaising with external auditors is advantageous.
- Proficiency in accounting software like Xero, Caseware among others
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel tools usage, such as VLookup, Pivot tables among others.

Key Responsibilities
Reporting to work and working closely with the Finance Manager and/or Curator Finance Lead, responsible for finance record-keeping, assisting with reporting on the performance and financial position for 3Sixty Life, and ensuring deadlines (internal and external) are met. The responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Maintain the general ledger and process journal entries.
- Assist in preparing of the monthly management accounts, including the updating of liabilities and provisions from signed-off actuarial reports.
- Post monthly accruals and journal entries in a consistent and timely basis.
- Perform all month-end reconciliations including (but not limited) to premiums, claims, banks, investment reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Reconcile the control/suspense accounts related to commission to identify and resolve any discrepancies or open items and regularly clear the suspense account.
- On an annual basis, assist with the preparation of the annual financial statements for the business on the IFRS (IFRS17 & IFRS9) basis.
- Assist with the external audit. Including (but not limited to) download audit support documents and putting together the fieldwork packs and reconciliations for the auditor.
- Assisting internal auditors regarding the assigned scope of work.
- Managing accounting projects, developing project plans, and monitoring project performance.
- Ensure 100% data integrity of financial information captured in the financial records of the company.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process through the collection, analysis, and consolidation of financial data.
- Creating, reviewing and/or approving payment batches.
- Assist with the analysis of the monthly working capital and cashflow requirements.
- Assist with updating, implementing, and maintaining accounting/financial procedures within the organization to ensure a good governance framework.
- Support ad hoc financial projects and process improvement initiatives as delegated by the Finance Manager and / or Curator.
Important Note:
An RE5 Certificate will be advantageous for all positions but is not a requirement.
