By providing high-quality services even after the sale of a vessel, the chances of a customer choosing Damen again when replacing a vessel or expanding a fleet are increased.

At the operational level, the Services department liaises with customers and acts as the eyes and ears of the sales organization. Services offers a broad portfolio of services for the entire lifecycle of a Damen-built vessel. This includes handling warranty claims, providing training, providing spare parts, providing maintenance, and performing modifications and repairs.

This is reflected in the behavior of its employees; They are always available, proactive, keep their promises, and always go above and beyond what is asked of them. Within the Services department, the question is always: How can we make this happen?

The role
As a Field Service Engineer, you will carry out maintenance and repair work. You will supervise during construction and perform operational commissioning tasks. You will provide training for ships and ship systems at locations around the world, taking into account local conditions, cultures and customs, and ensure that the ships are kept in optimal operational condition.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting and carrying out maintenance, overhaul and installation work related to mechanical, electrical engineering and process engineering on all relevant installations on both Damen vessels and other vessels;
  • Supporting local shipyards in the operational commissioning of ships;
  • Instructing/providing training to third parties regarding the operation, use and maintenance of ships;
  • Performing administrative tasks and preparing project reports.

Skills & Experience
You have:

  • MBO working and thinking level, WTB trained.
  • Good verbal and written command of English;
  • Preferable speaking: French, Portuguese or Arabic:
  • Independent personality with problem-solving skills and a high degree of customer focus;
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience.

Knowledge Of

  • Hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical engineering;
  • Electrical installations, pressure equipment, internal combustion engines;
  • Knowledge of safety systems such as gas detection, ESD and mechanical pressure protection;
  • Inspection, testing and maintenance; Control and PLC systems;

Your Role:

  • Serves as the technical resource for implementing solutions that require analysis of situations or data, and an in-depth knowledge of the solution.
  • Prepares site assessments.
  • Provides technical review of system configurations to ensure viability of system performance.
  • Prepares as-built drawings to document work completed during project or particular job.
  • Resolves complex customer issues requiring independent judgment based on strong HPM/US knowledge and skills.
  • Provides remote and on-site technical support to installed customer base.
  • Instructs customers in the operation and maintenance of the Philips solution.
  • Performs regular maintenance, completes required technical modifications, and conducts troubleshooting and repair to remedy issues.

  • Diagnoses and resolves technical hardware and software issues (remotely & on-site).
  • Analyzes reported problems via Remote Service functionality and/or direct contact with the site and collaborates with the Customer Care Solutions Center support engineer to identify, analyze and develop a resolution plan and take the actions required to resolve a customer's issues. Resolution plans which exceed the individual's skill or experience level are escalated to the next support level. Regular updates regarding the status of the repair activity are communicated to the customer and Philips management.

You are the right fit if:

  • College graduate degree level or equivalent desired in Clinical or Electrical or Computing Systems Engineering. Biomedical Engineer preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in IT, Network Diagnosis, System Connectivity, Remote Service within Engineering, Medical, Diagnostic Imaging (Field or Hospital-based) service environment or Electromechanical Industries or Science related environment or equivalent.

Excellent PC skills (e.g. experience with Microsoft Windows and Office software applications) including basic level networking skills
- Be experienced in the use of HPM & US test equipment - is a strong asset.
- Be able to understand the test results and be able to apply it to the repair process.
- The candidate must be willing to attend oversees equipment training when required
- The candidate must be willing to travel on occasional basis for support in other regions

De afdeling
Als Field Service Engineer werk je bij Heras voor onze afdeling Key Accounts. Deze afdeling houdt zich bezig met High Security oplossingen. Daarbij horen onder andere elektronisch beveiligde hekwerken, camerasystemen of andere detectiesystemen zoals radar- en lasersystemen en de software of netwerk gerelateerde oplossingen die daarbij horen. Als Field Service Engineer krijg je te maken met veel verschillende producten waar product specifieke kennis voor vereist is. Je hebt veelvuldig contact met de klant over onze systemen in een advies gevende rol. Al onze producten worden in eigen beheer geproduceerd of onderdelen worden ingekocht en op maat gemaakt tot Heras product. Tenslotte worden deze uitvoerig getest op onze locatie in Wijchen voordat deze naar de klant gaan.

Jouw rol
Je werkt voor ongeveer 10% hands-on aan elektrotechniek of elektronica en 90% met jouw laptop voor het programmeren, onderhouden of controleren van onze systemen. Als Service Specialist ben je elke dag op een andere, en vaak bijzondere, locatie. Je werkt aan security management systemen, netwerksystemen, Camera Observatie Systemen en detectiesystemen (PIDS) door een volledige inspectie van de installatie uit te voeren. Vervolgens voer je een uitgebreide storingsanalyse uit, stel je het defect vast en los je deze op. Je hebt altijd een tablet en laptop bij je, zodat je over de juiste planning, informatie en hulp beschikt. Hierop staan instructies en informatie over de klus en vul je jouw werkbonnen in nadat je de klant hebt bezocht. Je stelt de klant op de hoogte van je werkzaamheden en meestal werk je zelfstandig. Uiteindelijk heb je in deze rol sporadisch consignatiediensten (6-8 weken per jaar).

Jouw profiel

  • Je hebt MBO+ of HBO niveau door diploma of werkervaring in de richting ICT, netwerken, automatisering of elektronica.

De afdeling
Als Field Service Engineer werk je bij Heras voor onze afdeling Key Accounts. Deze afdeling houdt zich bezig met High Security oplossingen. Daarbij horen onder andere elektronisch beveiligde hekwerken, camerasystemen of andere detectiesystemen zoals radar- en lasersystemen en de software of netwerk gerelateerde oplossingen die daarbij horen. Als Field Service Engineer krijg je te maken met veel verschillende producten waar product specifieke kennis voor vereist is. Je hebt veelvuldig contact met de klant over onze systemen in een advies gevende rol. Al onze producten worden in eigen beheer geproduceerd of onderdelen worden ingekocht en op maat gemaakt tot Heras product. Tenslotte worden deze uitvoerig getest op onze locatie in Wijchen voordat deze naar de klant gaan.

Jouw rol
Je werkt voor ongeveer 10% hands-on aan elektrotechniek of elektronica en 90% met jouw laptop voor het programmeren, onderhouden of controleren van onze systemen. Als Service Specialist ben je elke dag op een andere, en vaak bijzondere, locatie. Je werkt aan security management systemen, netwerksystemen, Camera Observatie Systemen en detectiesystemen (PIDS) door een volledige inspectie van de installatie uit te voeren. Vervolgens voer je een uitgebreide storingsanalyse uit, stel je het defect vast en los je deze op. Je hebt altijd een tablet en laptop bij je, zodat je over de juiste planning, informatie en hulp beschikt. Hierop staan instructies en informatie over de klus en vul je jouw werkbonnen in nadat je de klant hebt bezocht. Je stelt de klant op de hoogte van je werkzaamheden en meestal werk je zelfstandig. Uiteindelijk heb je in deze rol sporadisch consignatiediensten (6-8 weken per jaar).

Jouw profiel

  • Je hebt MBO+ of HBO niveau door diploma of werkervaring in de richting ICT, netwerken, automatisering of elektronica.

This home/office/site-based role requires extensive travel across South Africa and occasional international assignments. You'll be a trusted expert working with leading-edge medical technologies and building meaningful relationships with healthcare professionals.

  • Diagnosing and repairing issues down to board level or below

Your Role
A Senior Field Service Engineer provides on-site technical support for equipment and systems at customer locations.

This role requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to troubleshoot

technical issues, and effective communication with clients.

Primary duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining, servicing, repairing, and technical support of all products
  • Encompassed by the business ZEISS and other products as required from time to time
  • Preparation and submission of job cards timely
  • Preparation and estimation of costs of work required
  • Provision of technical support to sales personnel for exhibitions/demos and clients' visits
  • Visiting clients countrywide and international
  • Offering and supporting the sale of Product Support Agreements (PSA)
  • Liaison with the company's internal staff members
  • Providing continuous feedback to management
  • Train customers on equipment
  • Maintaining existing customer data base
  • Mentoring and internal training of Trainees I New engineers

You Will Have

  • Education / Professional Certification

National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification

  • Experience

Five (5) years minimum experience in the Medical Technology field

  • Knowledge/ Skills / Other characteristics
  • Logical thinker and detail oriented
  • Must be a team player
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Ability to work under pressure.
