Duties & Responsibilities- Coordinate and assist with all production-related activities ensuring consistent compliance with SOPs and production targets as set.

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Farm Manager to join our dynamic team, based in Alberton. Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a farm by planning, organizing, managing livestock, and maintenance of facilities and equipment.
Duties & Responsibilities- Oversee daily operations of the feed yards.
- Ensure profitable operations of the feedlot to optimize feeding parameters.
- Develop a feeding program for the herd, considering any special considerations.
- Understand the nutritional requirements for the livestock of relevance, considering what promotes healthy growth.
- Work with veterinarians to ensure animal health is maintained, and any sickness is caught immediately.
- Prepare plans and schedules for planting, spraying, land operations, and harvesting and ensure staff understands expectations.
- Ensure that the feedlot is clean and well maintained.
- Report on weekly feedlot performance and manage a feed budget.
- Manage feedlot and appropriate safety standards and relations with employees, suppliers, and customers.
- Manage the sale of livestock to buyers.
- Tertiary education in the Agricultural Field
- Minimum of 3 - 6 years’ proven experience in the industry
- Previous experience in livestock farming
- Experience in farming/agriculture.
- Must have at least two years of experience driving a tractor.
- Sound knowledge of Farm Equipment Maintenance.
- Supervisory experience will be advantageous.
- Valid driver’s license is mandatory.
- Weekend duties and Standby is mandatory.
- Must be a good communicator (written and verbal) & Computer Literate
