The Jonsson Manufacturing team is responsible for bringing our garments to life by consistently producing high quality product in order to serve our customers brilliantly. Part of Jonsson Manufacturing is based in Lesotho and manufactures most of the Jonsson Workwear apparel products across 7 factories, a centralised Cutting Room, Customisation Facilities and an Industrial Laundry.
The Factory Leader is accountable to lead the factory-based team to ensure that each factory runs smoothly and efficiently, meeting our specified targets in a timeous manner, while maintaining our high-quality standards and values in order to delight our customers and serve our people.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
- Guide and motivate the factory team to reach efficiency targets to achieve OTIF (On Time In Full).
- Analyse production data and identify and resolve any production issues that may arise.
- Connect regularly with Line Managers, Team Leaders, and relevant support functions to review and plan for production requirements, ensuring production dates are met.
- Maintain an uncompromising approach to quality, ensuring our standards are brilliantly met across all production processes.
- Up-skill and coordinate training on an ongoing basis.
- Oversee all maintenance and service requirements for all equipment and factory machinery.
- Practice and maintain safe working procedures at all times, whilst ensuring good housekeeping and cleanliness.
The qualifications and experience we’re looking for:
- Related tertiary qualification in Production Management.
- Sound working knowledge of technical garment construction and line balancing; with strong work-study background preferred.
- Extensive clothing manufacturing experience.
- Experience in Total Quality Management (TQM) in the clothing manufacturing industry.
- Results driven and proactive with an approach of continuous improvement through root cause analysis.
- Demonstrated proficiency in root cause analyses and problem solving in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- The ability to identify, develop and implement permanent solutions through collaboration with multi-disciplinary task teams.
- Computer literate in MS Office and MS Excel.
- Is fluent in spoken and written English with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Own reliable transport.

• Work closely with the orders clerk who receives all non retail orders as well as the CEO
who keeps track of retail orders. Plan production according to stock on hand versus
orders and the forecast. This plan must be done up to 2 weeks in advance and take into
account promotional bumper orders.
• Ensure the production plan is communicated to the production team and the warehouse
and monitor to ensure no mistakes are made with the pre-production planning and actual

• Take regular walk about during the day to ensure management presence is felt in the

• Ensure production is setup and runs smoothly according to targeted outputs
• Ensure batch codes and expiry codes as well as bar codes match the product being
packed.
• Plan the distribution splits of finished good stocks to the various external warehouses.
• Ensure annual maintenance is carried out on machines as well as attend to emergency
break downs.
• Ensure high level ordering is done personally.
• Work with our 3rd party warehouse and distributor.
• Communicate any issues to the CEO that requires his intervention or any foreseeable

• Manage raw material stocks and ordering
