To effectively and efficiently manage and supervise all aspects of the Eye Clinic. This clinic provides eye care services on-board the Phelophepa to rural communities in South Africa
Position Outputs Efficient management of the Eye Clinic within relevant HPCSA and Transnet Policies and guidelines. Effective, objective and enthusiastic orientation of student groups. to ensure maximum efficiency in daily operations. ontinuous observation of student skills /development areas as opposed to patient numbers / requirements. onstant supervision, development and interaction with students to ensure the required value as per Training Institution requirement is added.
iaise with clinic staff re the control of equipment checkout, instrument functioning and laboratory machines' functioning so as to monitor use and maintenance thereof. iaise with Resident Optometrist re the arrangements for the school screening process and management of referrals for that week. iaise with local Optometrist / Hospital to prepare for the referrals of ocular pathology cases for further medical management. nalytical feedback reports on eye clinic activities to Transnet Foundation through the Phelophepa manager. rovide student assessment reports to relevant Training Institutions.

- Provide maintenance and continuous improvement skills to deliver and improve on safety, quality, delivery, productivity, cost and asset care.
- Effective use of maintenance systems data
- Observe and ensure compliance to safe systems of work
- Completion of Preventative maintenance activities and pro-active maintenance activities
- Deliver and improve performance targets in safety, quality, service, cost and asset care.

Role Responsibilities:
- At all times adhere to Diageo health and safety, environmental and food safety standards, and work to all applicable legislative procedures. Responsible for Safe Systems of work.
- Maintain a safe and organised workplace environment through adherence to the Safety and 5S MMS practices.
- Provide Asset Care Technician resources (electrical and/or mechanical) to the Operations team.
- Accountable to ensure all assigned Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules are carried out at the defined frequency and completed to the required standard.
- Coach operators to perform autonomous maintenance tasks, machine set ups optimisation and support growth in equipment capability as required.
- Support capital work, including installation, commissioning and testing within area as required. Responsible for feeding into early equipment management.
- Make full use of SAP - SAP reporting & recording completion.
- Review RCM activity on a weekly basis.
- Apply and uses MMS principles tools and techniques, contributing positively to MMS ITFs.
- Manage personal data in Workday e.g. P4G and personal details, My Learning Hub, ect.
- Attend and contribute to SIC process. Complete short interval control documentation on activities.
- Raise and attend 5 why’s as defined by agreed trigger points. Work with Operators and team leaders to play a proactive role in situational problem solving on shift. Fixing problems and finding solutions via RCPS.
- Participate in line improvement projects.
- Engage in start of shift meetings and performance-based team meetings to raise and address persistent performance issues.
- Participates in daily, weekly and monthly asset care review meetings.
- Anticipate issues and be more proactive in approach.
- Support TLs & Operators to build asset care and RCPS capability.
- Attend all Tier 1 meetings and Tier 2 meetings as required, contribute to the agenda and complete actions as required.
- Add to the maintenance system by optimising work schedules to add value.
- All planned maintenance schedules issued to be completed on time and in full.
- Potential to carry out standby activities as and when required.
- Carry out audits and inspections on equipment deems to fall under legislative requirements.
- Able to run with and manage projects such eg.FI improvements.
- Be flexible in working hours as and when required.
Excellence in Supply Chain
- Attend all Tier 1 and Tier 2 meetings as required, contribute to the agenda and complete actions as required on time in full.

- Understanding of Asset Performance and maintenance philosophy with excellent Process Improvement and a solid foundation in process understanding and problem solving (eg root cause analysis)

- Ability to work autonomously.
- Ability to work in a team and be an effective team member, good communication skills
- Has strength of character to challenge poor team behaviours and non-adherence to standards.
- Functioned in an environment with FSSC accreditation with clear understanding of how maintenance influences food safety and quality.
