The Role

Ground Culture is a company that aims to integrate cultures in South Africa. It's brand has been increasing in popularity quickly over the last few years. Ground Culture Cafe is the largest comedy club in the country, having hosted comedians such as Barry Hilton, Rob van Vuuren, Riaad Moosa, Nik Rabinowitz, Alfred Adriaan, Nina Hastie, Loyisa Gola and many many more. Ground Culture compromises of a Comedy Club in Observatory and operates 3 satellite stores (fixed Food Trucks) in Claremont, Sea Point and Table View. It's growing quickly and needs someone at the helm to ensure we carry out effective marketing strategies while keeping the event calendar full at the same time.
Let's break down the 2 different parts to this role. One is the marketing manager. Here you will ensure the effective carrying out of advertising strategies to get people to buy from either our stores or through Uber Eats. We've done well to establish 4 stores and will continue to grow into more. Your job will be to double the sales in each store, as well as their Uber Eats.
The 2nd part of the job is ensuring that our event line up remains full at Ground Culture Cafe. This means organizing comedians every night of the week and figuring out marketing strategies to sell out every show. We've got an operational team in place, your job is just to fill up with the calendar and figure out ways to sell the shows out every night of the week. The cafe is at the center of the brand and allows us to be in contact with influential South Africans. There is the potential to carry these people over to the rest of the business.
Ground Culture has 4 Food Trucks and a Tuk Tuk (and will probably have 5 food trucks by the time you're hired). This means we have 1 spare food truck to go to events and festivals and to sell directly to the public. We will need you to get in touch with event organizers and get us into the best festivals and events in Cape Town. We will worry about the operations, we just need you to get us in to these events.
Skills Required:
- Knowledge of Meta Ads and Google Ads
- Strongly connected in the community in Cape Town with a good understanding of how to reach their hearts
- Marketing Degree (Would be nice but not essential)
- Graphic design experience
- Success at scaling a company
- Good knowledge with using variance AI platforms
