NTU International A/S is leading a consortium for the implementation of the EU funded project called: Energy access and resilience initiative for Northern Uganda and is searching for experts to support the core team during the implementation of this project.
The overall objective of this assignment is to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all in Northern Uganda, with a focus on vulnerable groups, productive use of energy and rural communities, in line with the Uganda's Vision 2040 and the NationalElectrification Strategy.
Location : Gulu, with fieldwork in key districts across Northern Uganda.
Duration : The indicative start date is 15 October 2025 and the period of implementation of the specific contract will be 365 days from this date. Indicative end date: 14 October 2026 .
Environmental Specialist
️ Qualifications and skills:
- B.Sc. in Environmental engineering, or natural sciences, or chemistry or a related and relevant undergraduate degree; registered Environmental Practitioner with NEMA (minimum ).
- Master in Environmental Management, or Chemistry or any other relevant and related field would be preferable .
- Fluency in oral and written English.
️ General professional experience:
- Minimum 6 years of experience in environmental assessment of infrastructure projects including transmission lines and distribution networks.
️ Specific professional experience:
- At least 2 similar experiences in developing and/or implementing environmental and social management (minimum ).
- At least 1 experiences over the past 10 years on climate change impact assessment of electric infrastructure projects.
- At least 1 experiences over the past 10 years of carbon footprint assessment of electric infrastructure projects.
- Experience in projects funded by an international donor or international financial institution (preferred ).
- Knowledgeable of the EIB environmental and social standards (preferred ).
