Qualifications and Experience:
- National Diploma in Environmental Management with a minimum of 4 years postqualification experience; or
- BTech in Environmental Management with a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience; or
- BSc in Environmental Management with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience.
- The candidate must be professionally registered with SACNASP or EAPASA.
- Experience must include EA and EMPr compliance management, monitoring and reporting to the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE) and the client, as well as communication and engagement with stakeholders such as the Department of Water and Sanitation.
Job Mission (KPA)
- To provide implementation oversight by ensuring all mitigation and rehabilitation measures in the Environmental Authorisation (EA) and Environmental Management Plan (EMP) are followed during construction of the transmission lines and substation.
- This includes monitoring and reporting on site activities and compliance, maintaining necessary records, permits, licences authorisation and conducting auditing to verify adherence to environmental requirements, and effective communication with relevant stakeholders.
- For the substation, the ECO will also conduct site inspections, compile close-out reports for submission to the Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) and the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE), and provide inputs to the substation rehabilitation plan and report.

Physical Monthly Walk Abouts to Inspect all Sites
- Focus on identifying potential issues before they escalate.
- Conduct comprehensive maintenance assessments to ensure the new financial year budget aligns with necessary actions.
- Manage small to medium-sized modernisation projects with a solid understanding of construction trades.
- Supervise contractors, ensuring quality workmanship, adherence to budgets, timelines, and compliance with building regulations.
Resident Interaction
- Act as the point of contact for on-site issues, requiring empathy, patience, and clear communication, particularly when dealing with elderly residents.
Reporting & Coordination
- Collaborate with the Head of Property, providing clear updates on maintenance activities, costs, and project progress.
- First point of contact for afterhours emergency escalations.
- Emergency response plan already in place, serious escalations to be reported to the Head of Property.

Experience:

- Strong exposure to commercial refrigeration systems including but not limited to: Chill Water Systems, Single Phase/3 Phase Motors, VRV/VRF Systems, Split Units / DX, Refrigeration Systems and Air Handling Units.
- Working on Multiple Projects/Portfolios
- Oversight of small teams (advantageous).

- Red Seal Commercial Airconditioning Trade Qualification (Mandatory)
- Safe Handling Practitioner Certificate (Optional)

Key Accountabilities- Complete the PPM schedule accurately and ensure all paperwork is properly filled out according to procedures.
- Respond promptly and positively to service call/alarm requests from the Helpdesk, assess the job requirements, carry out necessary repairs within agreed timescales, and update call and job statuses.
- Perform service and maintenance on HVAC assets, including air handling units with gas-fired heating, LPHW, DX coils, heat pumps, air conditioning units, boilers, pumps, inverters, water heaters, and chillers.
- Identify non-repairable faults and advise the Line Manager, making recommendations for replacements when necessary.
- All activities to be conducted following our Health, Safety & Environmental policies.
You will hold recognized Commercial Gas qualifications, with at least four of the following: COCN1, CIGA1, CORT1, TPCP1, TPCP1A, ICPN1, CENWAT, CPA1, CDGA1, CCP1.
Having 17th or 18th Edition wiring regulations qualification is desirable.
