Job Description
Mechanical Engineer – Highpoint Industrial (Sasolburg Branch)
Salary: R40,000 – R45,000 per month
Location: Sasolburg, Free State
About Us:
At Highpoint Industrial, we build the machines that keep the world's dirtiest jobs running smoothly. We're South Africa's go-to specialists in industrial vacuum solutions for the mining and municipal sectors — and we're proud of it. Our Sasolburg branch is growing fast, and we're looking for a Mechanical Engineer who's not afraid to get their hands dirty and talk to people while doing it.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Oversee and improve the performance of Highpoint's vacuum product line.
- Handle mechanical design tweaks, performance testing, and troubleshooting.
- Liaise directly with clients — you'll be their technical go-to when it comes to product application and support.
- Manage a small technical team (yes, humans) to ensure builds and maintenance go to plan.
- Collaborate with sales and service teams to make sure our solutions actually solve problems.
- Occasionally venture into the field to see your machines in action (bring boots, not just spreadsheets).
You'll Fit Right In If You:
- Have a Mechanical Engineering degree or diploma (BEng/BTech).
- Have 3+ years of mechanical or product engineering experience.
- Know your way around pumps, hydraulics, and vacuum systems.
- Communicate clearly — both with clients and colleagues.
- Can balance technical work with a bit of people management.
- Don't panic when a wrench and a spreadsheet are in the same sentence.
Why You'll Like Working Here:
- Competitive pay (R40k–R45k/month).
- Real career growth in a company that actually builds stuff.
- A mix of technical, hands-on, and client-facing work.
- An honest, down-to-earth team that values good engineering and good coffee.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: R40 000,00 - R45 000,00 per month
Work Location: In person
