We are looking for a dynamic Engineering Manager – Comminution to join our client in crushing equipment. This permanent role offers the opportunity to lead the design and development of world-class crushing systems and equipment, while mentoring a high-performing engineering team and collaborating cross-functionally to deliver exceptional results.
BEng or BSc in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
8–10 years in mechanical/structural engineering design
3–5 years in a senior or lead engineering position
Proven background in equipment design, manufacturing, and service environments
Willingness to travel (local and international)
Key Skills:
In-depth knowledge of crushing, processing, and materials handling equipment in mining
Proficiency in 3D CAD modelling and drafting (FEA & structural design experience advantageous)
Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership capabilities
Commercial acumen with a focus on value engineering and cost control
Innovative, solution-oriented, and self-driven with strong decision-making ability
Key Responsibilities:
Lead product development for crushing systems; ensure compliance with safety and industry standards.
Mentor and manage engineering and drafting teams; drive technical excellence.
Work with manufacturing, supply chain, field service, and sales to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
Develop and maintain engineering procedures and documentation; ensure ISO/ASME/CE/SANS compliance.
Address DFM challenges, quality issues, and assist with equipment commissioning and trials.
Control departmental budget, drive cost efficiencies, and lead value engineering efforts.
