Main Purpose
Tech Bar Engineers are based at a central location at the Customers location. Engineers will provide walk in services to Customers for Desktop, Laptop and peripheral equipment.
Job role including; Maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs computer systems, hardware and computer peripherals. Documents, maintains, upgrades or replaces hardware and software systems. Supports and maintains user account information including rights, security and systems groups as required.
- Support and lead team members on pertinant issues.
- Support and cover for site Bridgehead during holidays and sickness
- Deliver repair services to Customer staff at Tech Bar.
- Field incoming help requests from end users via both telephone and work orders in a courteous manner.
- Document all pertinent end user identification information, including name, department, contact information, and nature of problem or issue.
- Build rapport and elicit problem details from help desk customers.
- Prioritize and schedule problems. Escalate problems (when required) to the appropriately experienced technical level.
- Record, track, and document the help desk request problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to the final resolution.
- Speaks and writes in English to a good level.
- Any College degree – ideally within IT
- Experienced in all forms of MS Windows based personal computing devices and associated peripherals
- Acquires job skills and learns / adheres to company policies and procedures. Complete routine tasks pertaining to computer hardware, software or operating system support.

Responsibilities
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, and repair on designated equipment.
- Interface daily with doctors and technicians regarding equipment status issues.

- Maintain accurate customer service logs and internal service records promptly.
- Properly maintain and calibrate tools and test equipment.
- Identify sales opportunities, communicate with the account team, and support business growth in the assigned area.

- Manage warranty and PMS contract costs.
- Complete all administrative tasks on time, including FMI and PMS inspections documentation.
- Assist and mentor other Field Engineers in troubleshooting and technical repairs.

- Maintain compliance with ISO 9001 quality standards according to GE Service Quality Policy.
Required Qualifications
- National Diploma, B-Tech Degree, or equivalent qualification.

- Understand Ubuntu, Linux, networking and services in real-world environments
- Architect cloud infrastructure solutions like Kubernetes, Kubeflow, OpenStack, Ceph, and Spark either On-Premises or in Public Cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Architect and integrate popular open source software such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kafka, Cassandra and NGINX
- Help partners to offer and architect joint solutions utilizing Canonical's technologies on top of the public clouds and in the data center
- Design and publish joint Reference Architectures and perform technical validations with various partners
- Prepare and run onboarding sessions/workshops with various partners' teams to promote Canonical products and solutions
What we are looking for in you
- Extensive experience with Linux (Ubuntu preferred), Kubernetes, Ceph, software automation
- Experience designing and implementing solutions on top of public or private clouds
- Python and bash understanding, troubleshooting skills
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- High motivation, ability to multi-task and follow-up reliably on commitments

- Input into the Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) of the contractor - Allowance has been made for 5 packages ITPs. (EW/Box cut, Silo, Conveyors, Support Complex and Tunnels).
- Review of datasheets of materials to be used in construction.
- Review of construction plans and procedures.
- Inspections of supplier fabrications.
- Review and approval on concession with regards to civil earthworks and structural concrete works.
- Review and response to engineering site queries with regards to earthworks and structural concrete works.
- Punch the relevant scope items and issue punch items for correction to the mine. Upon completion and sign-off of all punch items, the Clients Engineer shall formally accept the relevant scope items. If punch items categories 1 and 2 are still open, the acceptance certificate will be withheld until punch items are worked off.
- Review of the overall data pack for the relevant structure for completeness.
- The Clients Engineer shall review the red line drawing issued by the mine and correlate this back to the final inspection and acceptance of the scope item. If the red lines are poor and do not capture all the modifications, they will be returned for the mine to source all the updated data for incorporation into as-built drawings. Any changes are subject to Change Management procedures. Red line incorporation into the as-built drawings is excluded from this scope.
