Role Description

Education

Skills & Qualifications

Yanacocha Water Treatment Plant (WTP):

Located 800 km northeast of Lima, Peru, Yanacocha is South America's largest gold mine. The WTP Project consists of two of the largest acid water treatment plants in South America (the West one with capacity of 3,000 m3/hour and the East one with 2,700 m3/hour). Job Summary:

This role, you will be responsible for the organization and activities related to the construction team and subcontractors. Interpreting design drawings and specifications. Supervising the field verification of the materials. Providing technical direction to contractors in construction and design functions related to electrical and instrumentation engineering in a project area.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Coordinating with engineering on constructability and design issues and monitoring the interface between the construction automation plan and the project controls program at the workplace.
  • Establishing a Design/Field Engineering working relationship and lines of communication with the Project Field Engineer - Area Field Engineer, including an agreement on engineering deliverables.

  • Maintaining the construction engineering records for work history. Supervising the receipt, distribution, and presentation of drawings and specifications.
  • Implementing controls on variables affecting job progress to ensure engineering and procurement provide timely delivery of drawings, materials, and equipment, and to ensure other corporate programs are fully utilized.
  • Coordinating with the Field Engineer of the Main Electrical Area/FE/ Field Engineer of the Project for any work related to the contract administration and the activities that affect the contract administration operation.
  • Verifying commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.
Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires recognized degree in Electrical Engineering/Instrumentation and 5-8 years of relevant experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Technical knowledge of all phases of electrical construction equipment and instrumentation related to a single or multiple area.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction activities as it relates to the disciplines of engineering, costing and scheduling, and contract administration.
  • Experience in inspection and certification of electrical equipment, installation of instruments (bulk/commodity) by contractors.
  • Experience in field work and electrical/loop testing. Knowledge of the Peruvian CNE.
  • Knowledge of project-specific environmental compliance requirements. Knowledge of the "Zero Accidents" safety program.
  • Knowledge of the use of subcontracts; knowledge of the responsibilities of the contractor/subcontractor contained in the subcontract documents.
  • Previous experience supervising and managing subcontractors.
